Some people really protect their property, like the owner of these flip-flops.
Do you take such excellent care of your stuff, making sure no one steals it?

I spent mid five figures on a home security system that I installed myself, so none of that was labor costs. My car just has a standard alarm because unless you're going to steal my race clothes there's nothing in there of value. They make things to lock in a catalytic converter because people are stealing them, but that's not a huge risk in my area because most people realize they'd get shot for it here, though I'd thought about looking into getting one at some point.
How are they locking up catalytic converters? I had a coworker get shot in our company parking lock trying to intervene when a group of criminals were dropping catalytic converters.
@love_conquers_lust It's a wire cage that goes over it, secures to the frame as I understand it. Not sure why they wouldn't just cut through it as well. Guess it's a "make the guy beside me an easier target" sort of thing
Makes sense. A portable grinder and enough ground clearance will make quick work of those extra metal rods.
Really, low ground clearance is probably the cheapest deterrent. Inherent to the design of the vehicle.
@love_conquers_lust hmmm... i actually never thought about that. Sell a drop kit as a security feature that way. Smart.
Yeah. Even that has drawbacks with the wheelbase and scraping the ground over humps and bumps. Hydraulics lift kits are actually useful here.
It’s still cheapest if people don’t steal cat. converters and obey the fucking law. It’s stupid to engineer in security features that add extra cost like code ciphering to protect from hackers. All well, people can be shitty.
I try to… kinda. It was hard as a kid because I didn’t have a door and my sister would steal all my clothes.
Adulthood… When I was in Anchorage my roommate and I would leave the front door unlocked. The only reason we started locking it though was because of bears. I didn’t feel the need to protect anything except my car when I left base. Fast forward 3 years later, I don’t trust anyone and make sure my bedroom door is locked because I don’t trust my current roommate, lol.
I love my house and my car, although there isn't an alarm system on either. But I have two dogs that will wake up the whole neighborhood if you try to come into the house, even when they know you.
nope... I don't.
I live I the middle of nowhere. if we meet 4 persons a week it is much.. 😊. further more I have not much of value.. well a few things but the don't have sentimental value.. if it was stolen I buy some new.
the thing is if you don't lock things up with gates and cameras no one will think there is much to steal. 🤭

The lock is probably worth more than the shoes. Remember The Club for steering wheels? I vaguely recall a bit where thieves were steeling the clubs and leaving the vehicles.
I have shit stolen from me before. I lock up my residence and vehicle wherever I go. I generally lock any public storage spaces I might be using.
I'm not overboard with it. But if I'm out somewhere on my mountain bike I make sure I lock it up before leaving it unattended. I lock car doors but also not leave anything of value visible in the car.
I have a couple of pet dragons that patrol our property. They are kind of expensive to feed, but they do a phenomenal job of warding off problematic individuals.
I keep all my yard equipment locked in my shed and I keep my garage locked when I am not home. There have been breakins in my neighborhood and it will get worse so I am extra careful to keep my stuff locked up.
Yep, I tried to lock up my bike the one time at work and someone came along and popped everything but the frame. I was sooooo pissed when I came out from work.
Haha there are people as obsessive as your funny pic. I’m not one of them…I’m protective within reason
Anything I don't want stolen is under lock and key. I lock up my car and my house when I'm not in them. I have cameras all around my house. I have a 360° view dash cam running in the vehicle while I'm in stores.
No
but that’s because the concept of stealing is lost on me
why would you steal before asking
I do take care of my things but those flip flops are a bit over the top.
Lol... that's funny.
