Your goals are to make entry as TIME-CONSUMING and VISIBLE for the intruder as possible, at least more so than the other houses on your street.
A few specific ideas:
1. Cut back any trees that are near the eaves of the house so that someone can't climb them up onto your roof, trellis, etc. if applicable to your house style of architecture (ie 2 story, cape cod, georgian, etc.) (See #15 too).
2. Use bushes with thorns in your plantings.
3. If you have gates, etc for entry, find alternative ways of releasing the latch than the typical.
4. Have lights that automatically go on at certain times in certain areas of your house. This creates a "pattern of use" that can be maintained even when you have to leave.
5. Use CCTV cameras with night-vision at major access points. There are also "dummy" cameras with a little LED you can add as well, but of course, the real deal is best.
6. Get a computerized doorbell system which allows you to see the person at the door on your mobile device, wherever you may be.
7. Keep a lock box at your property so that first responders can gain access to you house easily in case emergency.
8. Notify local police if you will be gone so they can keep an extra watch on your house.
9. Have reinforced door frames, hinge and lock guards installed.
10. Get a noisy dog or even a remote-controlled recording of a loud dog. 11. NEVER give out personal information on the internet from a post that is incoming. Take their information, vet it out, and IF it is legit, then YOU get back in touch with THEM!
11. If someone is coming over to visit, keep in touch with them for their time of arrival.
12. If you are having a delivery being made at your home, keep track of that as well. Have the shipper give you a 2-hour "window" of time when they are to arrive.
13. Install a peep hole in your door, if you don't get a camera.
14. Install motion-sensitive lighting on each side of the house.
15. Railings are great to have something to hold onto if needed, but they can also be a way for someone to gain access to your roof or second story, if applicable.
These are a few of the easier things to do to make your home look like a less attractive target for a quick, neat entry. Your job is to make it not worth the TIME, EFFORT, VISIBILITY/EXPOSURE, RISK for someone to break in. There are many helps on-line I am sure is you just search "burglar-proofing a house" or something like that. Good luck.

Security is mostly about making YOUR house much less attractive to criminals than the others in the area - but nothing will stop someone determined to get into your house specifically - you can only slow them down and make them draw attention to themselves.
Security is all about layers. No one thing will be effective alone, but several different layers together can make things very, very difficult.
On my last house, I had Class 4 security screen doors front and back, rose bushes under every window (nasty thorns), an alarm, cameras, security film on the windows, and a German Shepherd. I even replaced my bedroom door with a solid wood door with deadbolt and security hinge pins.
Some of those measures were visible and some weren't, but it was going to be much more difficult than you expected to get into my house.
And there are still other things I can do today that I couldn't do then.
I know others have mentioned security systems. But in my opinion the biggest deterrent can be a locked door. In my area people are breaking in because people are leaving their doors open.
Several Ring Cameras for outdoors and some Wyze cameras for indoors. I love my Wyze camera.. I caught someone I trusted mistreating my child with it and took the video to police

1. Get a gun and a knife incase if you have a close encounter
2. Don't stand near windows, keep them tightly locked at night.
3. Use real mechanical locks, not these digital things that are interconnected to everything else (i. e. Nest) In England, I saw an Elizabethan lock that would take ages for a would be thief to pick.
4. Don't answer your doors to strangers unless you have an appointment.
5. Don't post too many personal pictures on social media.
6. Get a security camera but get a cheap one. Security is useless if you are unarmed.I would suggest use a Security Service that has 5 Star ratings
you never want choose one that has low ratings. Using flood lights
around your property is another thing that helps secure your property
get yourself a good watch dog ( German Shepherd, German Police ,
Pitbull terrier , Doberman Pincher ) . Never tell anyone on Social Media
when your away from your home such as Facebook. Make sure your
windows have secured locks on them , Make sure your doors have
secured locks?First buy a house that used to be a nuclear bomb shelter second buy all the land in a one kilometer square on all sides of your house and put up a 20 foot tall 50 000 volt electricity fence covered in razor wire around your intire land with concrete all the way to the bedrock below it to prevent tunneling next get yourself 10 -20 guard dogs running around fallow that up with a top of the line security system and a biometric locking system on your 8 ton door and finally a pump action shotgun in your bedroom and a 45 under your pillow
a big dog is the best way but cameras are a very close second though i would never recommend the ring system because its so easily hacked or the fbi can access footage with out permission. better to have a closed circiut system that acts as a deterent but also gives you guaranteed privacy
Most of my ideas might be considered extreme by most, but some of the more tame ones are setting up brackets on both sides of the door and running steel bars through them to help reinforce it, also, having a weapon (and ammo if it requires it) that you can easily access. (Near your bed, etc.)
Not too much that can be done when you are away aside from having someone you trust secure and guard everything till you return or setting up cameras.Property perimeter alarms/detectors, lights out, dark, night vision and be able to come out of a deep sleep shooting in <2sec. If you are not there then cameras and alarms are all there is. A nosy ass neighbor that sits on his back porch with his gun is good too.
A security screen door and lock both doors makes picking a nightmare.
Motion sensor lights.
Generaly make the easyest way to get in break a window most crooks won't because it makes tomuch noise and can be hard getting in.Don't have any windows and have only one exit/ entrance door that's made out of tanker or submarine metal. The door should be sealed like an airplanes door.
Own a gun and learn to shoot it.
i prefer rifles as they are more intimidating and accurate. Most important thing is to live in a statistically safe areaWhat kind of house do you live in? And do you own it or rent it?
Build your entire home out of concrete with no windows and only 2 6" thick titanium doors barricaded from the inside with 4-4" steel cross bars on each door! Anything else out there is just to make a thief work harder to get into your home! Sorry.
These days..
Hang a Notice board saying!
" Quarantine : Corona Virus infected property."No such thing. A determined attacker/thief will find a way in, no matter what precautions you take.
The only surefire protection is a gun. Buy one, learn to properly shoot, and keep it close. No way to make it PROOF. what you need to do is focus on making it not worth the effort it would take.
A super kick on his balls and penis to make hia testicles fly high than shoot him with a tazer gun straight to his heart so it explodes 😂
Well a lot of people are using CCTV and security systems that can be linked to their smart phones but now it seems they can be hacked and be used to aid thieves.
Best way is to have a gun.Have you got cctv? Or hire a security quard or just get a dog to help you keep house secure from bulgary.
Alarm system, cameras also a dog
Get dogs and security and shit
