You can't see yourself with your bare eyes, you need a mirror which shows you how you look.

Telling your problems to different people and hearing them talk about it makes your problem seem more easier than before. Especially if you share with positive people. Because it makes the problem more easy to digest. And you can reflect that way too. Because you know the other person will be more honest to you than yourself.

That's one good point! But most people aren't honest with themselves.

Let's take an example, there's this student who is scrolling the internet instead of studying and he's getting low grades. He tells his friend that he's getting low grades because the subject is unnecessarily hard. Then he goes home, he feels like he should get his work done instead of doom scrolling. And then he opens youtube to search harsh motivational videos, and instead of getting his job done, he ends up spending the whole evening watching motivational videos and study tips instead of actually implementing it. Now he'll obviously think that he's serious. And he actually is serious and has intentions to ace his exams. But he continues this loop of procrastinate by watching 'productive' videos instead of actually investing time in studies.

Then his mom notices what he's actually doing and one day she tells him that he's wasting his time and has a talk about it. The kid now realises his mistake and gets back to track. Something similar actually happened to me.

This happens to a lot of adults too.

A person knows themselves well but sometimes they fail to be brutally honest with themselves. They forget to have truthful reality check or don't give themselves enough credit for their job. That's why they ask for advice from others.

Like you know how your hair is and you know how to comb it properly but you still need a mirror to see if you're doing it properly. If we're that concerned about our hair, imagine how important it is for us to have someone reflect on our situation for us! That's why sometimes a person needs advice or a reality check by other people. You don't have to take an advice seriously on here, but it certainly gives bit of glimpse of the answer to our problems or a different perspective.

However, if a person is really strong mentally and can solve their own problems then that person won in life! If one learns how to reflect on themself then nothing can hault their pace. You asking this question says that you're one of them, that's a nice thing.

Yes!
If I take my own advice I will also be ready to take the consequences.
It's better than taking advise from others and blame them for the consequences that comes with it.

But that doesn't mean that people don't give good and perfect advise. I'm just saying that before you listen to the advise people give to you first of all advise yourself.
