we were raised to be self sufficient and we raised our families to be happy and healthy bunch… to live, support and care for each other.

our job is to help the society, not to be a burden to our society.

we don’t cry about what we don’t have…we work hard to save and learn to be self sufficient because we have been raised to be prepared for the worse.
my mom is 80 years old. She walks to the market and buys her own food with the little SS money she receives. We, as her children/grand children stop by to help, take her out to lunch/dinner…

we also help pay for her cleaning person.
We don’t cry baby that our govt is not supporting us.

About time that we have a real man leading to hopefully bring back some with backbones and learn to save and recreate family structures that have been deteriorating for the past 30-40 yrs…

I saw all these as a kid growing up that something about the US govt wasn’t going towards the right direction.

I too was a single mom with no child support when my ex hubby makes double than me.
I raised above from nothing as a child from a proverty family. My ex. closed off all our accounts… I raised above again for the second time !!!
And I too broke my leg and was out of work 3-4 months.
I raised above again after 4-5 yrs… by saving and working hard and calling my ex to make sure our kids are loved.
they are heading towards better careers and future and ready to take on the burdens of the society. They are here to help our country, our family and create their own one day…. That is a legacy!!

I Googled it and found an article that said the shipments were some of a reported tens of thousands suspended nationwide, were expected within the next few months. TENS of THOUSANDS of TRUCKLOADS of food being sent by the federal government? That's an average of 200 TRUCKLOADS of food going to every state in the next few months. Where do I sign up for all this free food?

When I was only 45, your age, I always worked and was a single Mom but I never received welfare or food stamps. I always provided for us and I wasn't receiving any child support either!
But when you are only 45 it's easy to say that you always provide your own food. People your age usually do. That's not so unusual.
But who's to say that you might get in a car accident and have to live your life driving a scooter 🛵 around everywhere because your legs no longer work? Then your whole life changes.
There are a lot of disabled people in America and a lot of senior citizens as well that cannot afford to buy food, especially because it's just too expensive anymore. The people in America didn't cause the food price hikes did they? And food will never return to the affordable prices it was before because those days are gone!!

Come and talk to me when you're 70 and we'll see if your life has changed much in the next 25 years.

No it wasn't foreign aid. It was good to feed the elderly and people that are housebound that rely on the food to be delivered to them. Like Meals On Wheels.
The article seemed more interested how much money it costs the Federal government to pay for this food.
The first thing out of Trump's mouth is always about saving money - yeh, but who's being hurt because of that being his too priority. Period.
Even his Press Secretary is constantly saying that the president was voted to save the tax payers money and that is what he is doing and that's why he won the presidency election.
