I get paid in cash cause I rely on tips. I put most of it in my bank but I’ll keep my ones and fives for spending money. i also put aside money in cash for rent every month. at the end of the month I always have this big stack of cash and it’s always so disappointing having to deposit it for rent lol.

Did you know that you are less likely to spend money when it’s cash than in your account?

Because physically seeing the money leave your hand makes you want to spend less than just swiping a card

Yeah, I always try to carry at least $50 or so in my pocket. I try to pay in cash whenever possible. I'm a big believer in cash. I avoid digital currency.
I use a Costco cash back card for gas, groceries, and more expensive purchases. I pay that off every month.
I use one other card for on-line purchases and some expensive things. I used it to buy a new set of tires recently. That card has a 1% interest rate so I don't mind owing a balance. I pay $200 towards that balance automatically every month.

I never use my ATM card for purchases.

My wife makes a lot of cash at her job. She gives me pocket cash and we also pay cash most of the time at restaurants.

My income from Social Security and my pension are automatically deposited into my bank account and get used up every month to pay bills. My wife pays for lots of other stuff.

@Jamie05rhs. I know, right? I never heard of it, either. And it's with a major credit card company, too.
I don't know. I got that offer in the mail a couple decades ago. It was kind of a one time thing because I've never seen anything like it since.

I always use cash. I only use cards on things that really requires it. Cash is way safer and it's always guarantee like it doesn't give you inconvenience like the credit/debit card or digital wallet just didn't work or you haven't received your credit card bills for whatever reason, getting hacked and so on. With cash, you can directly see how much you're spending.

Also it can make you self conscious into disciplining yourself to save more.

I never have cash on me never sometime I even go outside without my ID or credit card but I live in a small village so I don't need it there's no shop where I could use it anyway so XD

This apartment is tiny tbh lol. I don’t think it’s worth the price and I think we could definitely find a bigger place for the same price.
I’m in Rhode Island, US. and I’ve heard that we have some of the highest rent in the country. It’s hard finding any apartment for less than $1200 and that’s just for a one bedroom.

Yes… especially during the time when one of my tenants only gave cash in hundred dollar bills. I didn’t want to put them in the bank so I had to spend them. My kids kept seeing me using $100. bills. I had to explained to them.
I also like to tip with cash, there are still a lot of cash business around this area.

Never carry cash now. I do agree it is easier to spend by card than by cash but I use a debit card and I have to transfer money into it to spend it.

I've kept a cash savings for years and I’ve had no issues lol.

I know there are chances of being robbed or it getting destroyed in a fire or something. But that’s just a risk I’m willing to take because saving cash is easier for me to save.
I keep it in a savings book and forget about it.
But when I see money staring at me in my bank account, I’m more likely to transfer it and spend it

And I keep my cash savings separated by categories. I have a vacation fund, a tattoo fund, a car fund, etc.
I like keeping it separated. So what am I gonna do? Open 10 different accounts for each individual category? 😅
