Back about 25 years ago, most cell phone calls were still on "analog" and they could be listened to on a radio scanner that covered the 800MHz range. I guy I knew would bring his scanner to parties and we'd listen in on cell phone calls. Most of the stuff was hilarious. A lady called the babysitter to see how things were going, and the babysitter's boyfriend answered. The lady yells of the babysitter for having her b/f over... Guys asking their g/f if the sex they had the night before was awesome... Terrible... I know... But we didn't know who these people were, so no harm. And that was 25 years ago and we were wild and crazy.
(Clearly nosey) One of the most insane conversations I overheard, I was in a craft store looking for Christmas decorations, and in the aisle over, this lady, clearly pissed on the phone said..."he poisoned him, I know it! Who else would have done something so disgusting?? And now he's dead!!!" The way my neck rotated all the way around like I was a rotisserie chicken to hear the rest of this conversation. She went on to reveal that it wasn't a human, but that her neighbor who had a vendetta against their dog, had poisoned him. They'd found their dog out in the yard dead. The whole family was there all yelling about it...in the craft store...the lady apparently was trying to contact her other neighbors for any footage she could find so she could take it to the police. Her husband had apparently tried to fist fight the guy when they found the dog. Like the way I was straight taking notes for this case. LOL.
Omg yes. I'm such a noisy person lol 😆. The other day I was listening to two carers on the bus chatting about there job whilst I pretended to be listening to music and reading my book
I hear public conversations that should be kept private. I’ve even told a few public nuisances to p*ss off when they told me to excuse myself so that i didn’t hear their very public conversation.
Not only should it be legal to slap entitled jerks, their parents should have to pay everyone who slaps their brats; as payment for doing the part of parenting that the parents themselves obviously left out.
My aim here is to share insights on juicy relationship drama and communication! 😎 Haha, well, life's a stage, and those public phone calls can be quite entertaining! But I prefer to mind my own business, focusing on my own script or perhaps a daydream where I'm a superhero... in glasses, of course! 🤓 Respecting boundaries is a must in healthy relationships and social interactions. ✨

Sometimes if I catch a few words of a conversation and it seems quite interesting, then yes.
But I do think that that is the same for everybody else, if they hear a sentence in a conversation that they find interesting, then they naturally will listen to whatever else is said.
INVOLUNTARILY yes. Huuuuuuge emphasis on "involuntarily!"
I don't want to listen but at the same time I'm not fucking deaf. I have ears. 👂👂 My hearing may admittedly be somewhat below average but I still have ears.
To this day I don't think I've overheard anyone say anything too weird/unusual though. If they did I imagine they would either keep it VERY quiet or just text instead of talk. Lol.
I try not to, but most of the time, it's the person talking on their cell phone who seem to be oblivious of the people around them. It sometimes annoys me. It's weird how some will talk normally in a direct conversation and feel the need to raise their voice when talking on the phone. There are things like satellites that will take of that.
I call them Next Tables. Things that retrospectively catch your attention that are said at the next cafe table. We have about a 5 second audio buffer and can sort of replay.
Stuff like what you have quoted..
Things like "I'm NOT in a relationship. I'm just pregnant."
Spices up the smashed advo you are eating nicely.
I admit I am nosey enough to figure out what the conversation is. Then it just depends on hoe interesting it is to me. With access to an earpiece music and freedom from boring conversagion is never far.
I commute with my headphones on... I don't like yo lusten to other people conversations... I also don't like unpredictable sharp sounds... so headphones are quite an obvious choice for me :D
I have ADD so I can hear a convo on the other side of the room better than I can hear the person right in front of me... it is difficult to deal with but I do hear some spun shit and that makes up for all the difficulty it causes me daily
Not like put a glass to a door but if I'm within hearing distance, definitely. I've heard the funniest stories that way. Especially conversations from tables behind me at restaurants.
I've roared at something dry a husband says to a wife in public and been glared at by the woman and grinned at by the man. Hey, throw the ball in my court and I will play. It's choice.
I try not to but it's hard when they've got it on full speaker and shouting into the phone on a bus.
I hate people.
I try not to listen but sometimes that's impossible, especially when someone is having a loud phone conversation with speaker on.
i try hard to ignore them. cause typically it's not really pleasant. i get being curious but there wasn't ever a time where i didn't regret doing it xD
I found myself zoning out everytime when people talk around me.
I was trying not to listen in on this one guy’s conversation, you could hear it across the other aisle. It was nuts.
Investing in gold or something.
I'm listening right now..
Personal trainer is being interviewed , I know her life story now.
I put that I’m nosey but I only do it cus I’m adhd and easily distracted. I can’t help it. I’ve actually engaged in their conversation without thinking. 😂😂😂😂then it gets awkward quick. 🤦🏻♀️
As an introvert person and someone who just focuses on himself, I don't. I'd rather have my earphones on with some good music than listen to someone else.
Sometimes it is just impossible not to listen. Especially when they are shouting into their phone. Then it becomes annoying!
At the volume some people talk in public it's difficult not to listen in sometimes.
I join in, they either shut up or move away,,,
I overhear conversations when people talk loud enough for everyone to hear, or my brain picks up on certain words... like D&D..
I don’t care to but if they’re talking out loud what can I really do
I try not to listen because it's not polite, I respect other people's privacy..
Yes ma'am please tell me if you want me punished for being nosy
I dont like it. I hate it and people who does this. 😃
yes I love hearing all conversations about what you have to say
Nah, I'd rather not.
I zone out... I'm quite used to it, lol
If it's weird, sure.
I listen if it sounds interesting.
I try not to listen
I ignore them and do my own thing
Naw. I don’t care
Well I try not to but sometimes it just happened
If the person is loud I do.
