But yeah back to the question, personally I'm more a listener and I can talk and I'm a pro in small talks but I rather just listen tho

And I do listen to actually everything someone tells me, that's probably why others always call me up when they need someone to talk to

I really enjoy both. I'm both the ultimate chatterbox and a Japanese-style listener able to turn that off when someone is talking to me in person and listen most intently with only interjections to show that I'm listening, like so:

However, when it comes to my turn to speak (for which I can wait most patiently), I love to chat and open up about myself. I always violated the general rule on dates to avoid speaking about ourselves too much. I can't help it, so instead, I learned to turn it into a performance that's entertaining and funny and gets crowds huddled towards me to listen and laugh.

I haven't mastered this art over writing though. On text, I might inadvertently chat many people's metaphorical ears off since I can't see how they are responding to adjust what I'm saying as I'm saying it. I also haven't managed to learn how to make what I write anywhere near as funny as what I say. :-D

I’d rather listen… The old idiom my grandma used to say “god gave you two ears and one mouth for a reason… you learn twice as much by listening that you do by speaking!” Of course, being the consummate smartass, I would say “but wait, I thought good gave us two ears so we could have directional hearing, and hear in stereo, but it’s for learning? Ok… do I have a few words for my biology teacher on Monday!” I thought that was hilarious… my grandmother (AND my mom) however, found NO humor in that whatsoever? Beats me 😅😂🤣😂😅

although I am for a balance between the two, I do prefer and rather to listen more than to talk because I've always found myself intrigued and interested in other people... and the more interesting they are the more I'd like to know about them

talking about myself is always the same for me... with everyone I know, I sure can talk about me, but I've been telling them the same because I do not change, however... knowing about others, everyone is different and have their own unique story which is way way more interesting for me, always has been

To listen or speak is to either learn, protect, be comforted, comfort another, or laugh. I'm not sure why anyone would prefer to be talkative or quiet about all topics as a whole unless their throat hurts or they are some kind of ego driven person.

God I really don't like speaking a lot nor being the center of attention. If it's one on one interaction with a friend or family member it's fine, but I choose to listen the majority of the time and respond if need be. If people verbally present me with a problem, I like to offer some insight and hopefully a solution if I can.

If they are worth listening to then I’m definitely keeping quiet and listening. If they’re an empty vessel making a ton of noise, well I’ll still keep quiet. Only difference is I’ll probably walk away straight afterwards…

Definitely a listener, I try and include myself where I can make a contribution, but generally just stay quiet and listen to what the other people have to say. (I'm a bit more active in a one on one conversation obviously)
