Earthquakes, we usually have one every month or 2 months. I think the worst I’ve experienced was a 5.8 on the Richter scale, had things falling off the shelves in my house and the lights were swinging, pretty scary but I hid under my dining table.
Definitely used to the small ones, around 4.5-5 on the scale. Barely bat an eye. It’s when it’s 5.5 or over that I get myself and my son to safety incase it escalates. There was a 6.7 earthquake back in 2011 that destroyed many buildings and killed 185 people in my country, so on the rare occasion the earthquakes can be bad.
Im guessing you weren't close enough to experience the kaikoura 7.8 quake 😭
yeah
it doesn't hit you normally that hard lol its just a lot of waiting
i live in st. louis which gets a lot of floods bc the city is right on the mississippi river
we sometimes get tornadoes but they're not common

Several earthquakes. several hurricanes, several tornados.
Earthquakes are weird. It takes a few seconds every time for my brain to process what's going on. At first your brain just rejects the weird sensations of a building swaying or the ground vibrating. Fucks up your equilibrium.
Hurricanes are the least threatening. You have plenty of time to get to safety these days. The cleanup after and the economic damage is the worst of it.
Tornados are just an awesome force of nature to witness. There's very little warning. And without a purpose built shelter almost nowhere is safe. Luckily they are short lived and very localized. So the chances of being in the path is very small.
Flash flooding in a mountainous wilderness area where I had to make about 10 stream crossings alone. Slowed me down considerably. But my choice was get trapped where I was or keep moving before it got worse. I kept going.
No major wildfires, only witnessed them from a safe distance. Never seen a tsunami in process. No comet strike yet, LOL. No sinkholes.
Once got caught on a mountain ridgeline above tree line on bare granite in a violent thunderstorm. Lightning was hitting the ground all over the place around us. All we could do was hunker down and take our chances. The smell of the ozone and rock dust is something I'll never forget. Very cool to witness.
I once lived through a strong cyclone that caused daily disruptions and uprooted trees. Despite extensive flooding and power outages, the neighborhood's unity and quick relief efforts transformed a terrifying event into a lesson in fortitude, empathy, and hope via neighborly recovery and reconstruction.
I've seen tornados in Texas when I was a very little girl.
Growing up, I've experienced numerous earthquakes and witnessed a few wildfires here in California.
When I lived in the Philippines for nearly two decades, I've been through earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, wildfires, super typhoons and floods quite a lot of times.
I've voluntarily joined relief efforts to rescue, save and treat survivors in several natural disasters.
Kind of
This happen maybe 8 years ago the whole sky was lit up red cows were on fire crying everyone in the town had to leave and take shelter in a church way out of town land was burnt- up whatever livestock was still alive had little to no grass to eat had to rely on the kindness of others donating hey to us. You be the judge if it's scary, sad etc
I was in the right front eye-wall of hurricane Ida, which probably did more real damage than every other hurricane in my lifetime combined. The only reason Katrina did so much damage is because of the man-made levee failures. Ida did that much damage because Ida made landfall with 148mph sustained winds and 188mph gusts. I was well inland on the Northshore, not even at the point of landfall, and we experienced 6 hours of 110mph winds with gusts to 150mph. About one out of every 3 trees at our location was snapped off 20 feet above the ground or else uprooted. We were out of power for 9 days at that location, while parts of the Greater New Orleans area were out of power for 2 months.
Yes but not really. I was at work when it started raining like mad. Few hours later, roads got closed off and i had to detour around.
That was the start of the biggest flood in our history and a huge region of the country got cut off.
We didn't make deliveries up there for a few days.
Its been around 3 years since and the clean up is still going on
I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida during the 50' and 60's. Civil Defense dri8lls were a twice a year happening. Hurricanes were common. Tornadoes are common here as well as Floods, recently. I' ve lived through Blizzards, Noreasters, Hurricanes and Floods.
Blizzards. Usually just cold and annoying, and one a few years back being life threatening.
Several hurricanes, although they aren’t full-strength by the time they get this far north. When I was on the other side of my state, I experienced a minor earthquake, and a pretty crazy tornado, that Midwesterners were quick to hop on the internet and clown on us like “You call that a tornado?”😂
lol yeah, it's called living in the current year XD
I've been around plenty of tornado's and I mean they can be scary if your in an area where they are and there's no where to go to protect yourself from em.
They are quite something to see in real life though.
I remember Hurricane Floyd in 1999 being one of the biggest storms we had in South Carolina. I remember being in my grandmother's home and the tree almost came through the roof. It was scary.
We get earthquakes all the time, had to evacuate because of one a few years ago. Very scary.
Also experienced a few floods and cyclones.
small earthquakes, my parents were in some big ones in the 1980s and 1990s
Yes, I was in the bay area in 89. Fortunately I was at home at the time and our house didn't suffer any major structural damage.
Hurricanes? Too numerous to mention. Tree fell on the house and power was lost for two weeks , downed live powerlines far away too.
Wildfire? Not really, but it was close ig.
Earthquake? Scared the crap out of me.
I guess you could say that. I wasn't actually IN the microbursts but they hit my town pretty bad about 16 years ago. Knocked out our power for at least 4 days.
only a couple of hurricanes, not on the stronger side... and a couple of baby tornadoes, not the strongest either
Two hurricanes and one tropical storm , they were awful.
Are you on the east coast of the US?
Yes I am
I've experienced little earthquakes in three different countries but nothing that caused any damage just a bit of shakiness.
Marriage and divorce? Yes I have...
Yes. Dating a white woman. It's like a tornado of drama.
Technically yes, a few earthquakes but nothing in a major scale.
I've been through some hurricanes and an earthquake.
Hurricanes only
I would LOVE to (safely) experience an earthquake besides the minor 4 East Coast one last year but it was FUCKING LIT!!
Yes, several.
Yes, earthquake. It was kinda cool, but not like in the movies.
