Yes, way overpriced
Nah, that’s the going rate for a room nowadays

I mean it depends on location. Amenities. Pet friendly vs non pet friendly (only mentioned because it’s nearly impossible to find a decently priced rental that allows pets) utilities, parking etc.. In a small town absolutely way too much money, in a big city it could be reasonable
But to me yes, I’m not paying $1k a month for a room. $1k a month for shared accommodations where I have free access to laundry, kitchen, bathroom maybe but even that’s pushing it. My previous rental before my dad died and I moved back home to take care of my mom was $800 a month everything included. So laundry, pet friendly, 2 bedroom, only downside was it was shared with upstairs that had toddlers and I worked nights.
At my current rental that is still overpriced for what I have is a 3 bedroom 1 bath basement suite for $1450 plus about $170 a month for utilities. So roughly $1620 that’s for summer months, in winter the utilities are closer to $200 making it $1650 a month. And I pay that because I had a dog (will be getting another hopefully soon)
Normal non pet friendly rentals I’ve seen are about $1200 for a 2 bedroom basement suite. For apartments I’m looking at what I already pay if not more. So again location factors in.
Even though I pay about 900 a month right now for my part of the room, I have my own bathroom. We both do. 1000 is kinda pricey without a private bathroom at least.
Also our rent is about to go down so it will actually be about 800 a month which is much more reasonable.
It depends where of course.
Here that would be absurd outside of high end places. Translating this to pounds would be £730 which if lucky can find you a 2 bedroom house to rent though for a £100 extra then you can easily find one. Most places be £200 a week that's why.
For just a room here it would be 400ish been around 80-90 a week.
For where I live yeah that's extremely overpriced you can rent out a pretty nice house/apartment with 2-3 bedrooms, 1-2 bathrooms with 864-1,125 square feet for less then a 1,000$ a month.
Damn, must be nice lol. Where do you live?

It depends on the location. For Los Angeles, that would be cheap.
Maybe “affordable”, not cheap lol
Its stupid lol but thats how it is these days
That seems pricey af
$1000 and no bathroom. in my opinion that is way to much.
That depends on the neighborhood and the house or apartment rent
That sounds cheap.
