Is 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 1,200 square foot too small for a single person?

3 bedrooms and two batbrooms is enough for a family with kids.
1 bedroom 1 bathroom is a one person house.
No girlfriend's and children's for me. Too much drama
Then you have no need for more than one bedroom and one bathroom.
I need a master bedroom, office room and guest room. With a small 3 bedroom house it’s easier for me to keep it cleaned and if I do die everything gets sold back to the state in my case 😂
Sounds perfect to me

That's plenty big enough unless you plan on having tons of stuff that you need to put somewhere. Also, that square footage does not include the garage, attic or basement if you have one. You can also have outdoor storage and sheds.
Up until about 40-50 years ago the vast majority of houses were less than 1200 ft, even for entire families. Through the 70s, 80s and 90s they kept getting bigger and bigger. They did have more rooms, but the increase was mainly because individual rooms were much bigger. It's cost efficient to build bigger rooms. There is not much difference in building cost between a 10x10 bedroom and a 14x14 bedroom. However the selling cost is much higher so it's more profitable for the builder.
depends how you live and hobbies, space you need. Like if you run a business out of one section. I had 1500sq ft for long time which was plenty if not too much. you end up storing more stuff rather than purging.
I like having a garage... we need man caves for all the tools to maintain everything.
Strikes me as good starter home and re-salaeable due to price point.
Yea, the market is terrible, maybe in near future you have more opportunities as the market shifts.
I plan on traveling in the near future.
it's fine, then you don't need to pay for big mansion and maintain it. condo probably better if travel lot.
I'm no millionaire or billionaire. That's what the women mostly wants, lol
no, but security and enjoy life, yes.
No, I been rejected from them a lot because I don’t have lots of money : ( . I hear too many stories on how women treat men badly
if you can buy a house you are doing good enough...
Alright, I am a landlord by trade with real estate license. I have 2 parents and three kids in a 3/2 ranch 1985 home and the have plenty of space. It is 1250 sqft and they have been there three years now. The garage has "crap" everywhere but they have never complained. 1800.00 month so even if this is your first home, there are options if you plan to go larger.
No. I bought a 2 bed 1 bath 900 sq foot house in the country and its big enough for me but I also have a 750 sq ft shop and 1000 sq ft open garage. So i never feel like its undersized. In fact I step foot in the guest bedroom two or three times a year so I don't even use all of it
Now that you say it, three bedrooms is not nearly enough for a single person!
It’s nice to have less space to clean.
No, it's a good size. I went out and bought my dream home and it has more rooms and bathrooms, but to be fair I bought it when I still had hope that I'd find someone and start a family, well that dream life died and now I'm living in a house I spent so much money on and now as a single person it's just a horrible reminder but it works for me and I don't really want to give up my house.
I am sure that will be plenty big for you. I downsized and bought a small log place on a 500 acre wooded parcel. It's about 1,500 sq. ft. and still too large.
Good for you getting out of the rental market.
Yes if a creative, or a collector, or you have lots of pets, or you're running a store in your home, or you run an online business. No otherwise.
No Partys, No pets, no girlfriend's and no children's
Even if I was single, that wouldn't work for me. I prefer the option of having that extra space if I need it.
Like having a basement or something added on to it.
That seems to be big enough unless you have a lot of stuff.
In some states a house that size would be $600,000.
$160,000
That used to be true in a lot of states, but even the prices there are rising because the price of materials to build one are rising.
That’s the price of the house
Not if you’re happy. My widowed aunt lives in a big house, too.
The house is not big. If I do die then the house get automatically sold and the money get used to pay back the state.
My house is waaaaaayyyyyy too big for me, but I am kind of stuck. I inherited it and it is grandfathered in under Prop 13 so it was not reassessed for taxes. I am paying less than if I bought a studio condo across the street
3 beds and 2 bathrooms seems plenty enough for 1 person
Not small at all for a single person.
My thoughts exactly. Kids nowadays buys huge or larger houses then life gets in the way then they have to downsize from life.
How much is a house like that costing now, in the area where you live?
The only drawback I see is that looks like a one-car garage.
It’s a one car garages and I have no plans for girlfriends, marriages and children’s. My dating days are gone. It’s my preference and I like being single
Around $160,000
Ah OK. $160K was about what that house would have cost where I live until the prices started going up. One thing you might consider since you plan on staying single, is to get a two bedroom that is the same size house. You'd get more living space that way. Just a thought.
That's a good starter home for a young family. I'm my area that can cost anywhere between 500k and 900k. It depends on the condition of the house.
If you live within your means without any material wishes and fantasies, even a decent sized and well planned 1 bed 1 bath is good enough.
Too small if you ever get a girlfriend you’re gonna be sorry about that house
I have no plans on getting girlfriends or having children.
I have no interests or desires for relationships and having children’s. It’s my preference. Too many drama and don’t have the stamina.
That's more than enough room for a single person.
That definitely seems on the smaller side for a 3/2/1
Later on I could add on to it
True, but you not find something comparable in price and bigger in size
I’m talking like adding a shed
No it's big enough. Though I like it double or triple storey houses
That’s a lot of room for one person. Go for it!
Doesn't seem small to me!
I’m gonna be honest with you no it is not
No, that sounds pretty good.
Especially if you have visitors fairly often.
For 1 person no anymore then that yeah
