Mine was a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle that I got after high school right before going to college. It didn't even last a year because a school bus pulled out in front of me and I crashed into it.

My first car was an '84 Chevy Caprice, and I loved the shit out of that car.
A big old land boat with a 5.0L 305 making all of 150hp, but with a pair of straight pipes on it, that sounded sweet as hell. Enough seating for myself and a buttload of jackass teenagers, and a trunk that could hide 40 bodies.
Even after I got a second car, I still kept that Caprice for years, as a "fun" car. I eventually acquired a 5.7L 350 out of a 'Vette that had been rear ended, and swapped that engine into the Caprice, along with some other modifications.
Damn, I had a blast in that beast.
I never had a car because I can't drive.
Can't drive?
I don't know how to drive...
Are you interested in learning, or is it not really necessary where you are?
I'm interested in learning, but I feel kinda insecure.
Thanks for the MHO
A single cab toyota pick-up. 99'. New. "Armand." From Anne Rice books. My comedic German Shepherd thought it would be fun to gently slip the steering gear from D to N at a military-like calculated moment when starting to cross traffic coming at us at 50. It was far enough off but we traded to a truck with a back seat and could seat belt her in. She loved that sliding window... as then she could stop traffic and get attention that way. Ah memories. My silly girl.
Love it. lol So smart.
Thank you for mho 😎
Welcome
A 1967, two-door, straight 6 Rambler in a silver-blue. Drove it from age 20 to age 29. I cried when they towed it away. Three on the tree and gears that hung up and I'd have to detangle by removing cotter pins.
So much room under the hood I could store another person!
Cost my dad $500 and was worth every penny. Was a tank with good gas mileage.

My 1st car's a 1st generation Mazda MX-5 Miata that was handed down to me in the early '90s.
I still own it.
With the help of my dad and brothers, upgraded it with my own bare hands.
It's loaded with a twin-turbocharged inline 4 cylinder, a robust 5-speed manual transmission with competition clutch, stiffer springs & shocks, front & rear anti-sway bars, 3-piece BBS racing wheels, all-season z-rated tires, flared fenders, roll cage, Recaro seats and many more.
I'm proud of my "li'l beast" and proud of myself.
Zoom! Zoom!
First car I owned a stake in was a 1994 Lincoln Stretch back in 2014
I put my whole paycheck (£200) from the restaurant down with a friend's £800 to buy the car
We then had to get my friend in exotic rentals (before he was doing that) to put in £1,000 to fix the issues but he sold it for £4,000 so we doubled our investment
It did, newer shape would have been worth more
first car, 69 nova i earned in early 80's by working in a wrecking yard for one of my dad's friends.
First "new" car 85 mustang gt I bought from my auto shop teacher in high school. It had 1200 miles on but when he had twins his wife said it had to go. I loved that car.
It was a 2009 Ford Focus and I got it in 2016. My neighbor sold it to me and gave me a SWEET deal on it but I know my parents paid some money towards it, even though they wouldn't admit to it. They were just happy they knew the car was safe, well taken care of and that I worked my butt off to save what money I did have to buy it. I loved that car.
The first car I actually owned was a hand-me-down… but not a bad one at all, I miss it sometimes… It was like driving in a fish bowl, you could see everything around you… and it was the S with the turbo, so it had some pep.

Technically my first car is my current car, a 2007 Honda Fit, I got it in Feb 2023. But the first car that I used as my own car was my ex’s Nissan Pulsar, think it was year 1999 or 2000. I started driving it mid 2022 until I got my current car.
It is compact but pretty standard car size in my country. Definitely tiny compared to American cars! I can fit a stroller in the boot, 2 car seats in the back seat, my groceries in the passenger seat and myself in the drivers seat. Thats all I need space for.
Ford Focus. Release year model. Five speed manual. It had the crappy 2.0L SPI, not the Zetec. Drove like dog shit. Nothing special about it.
But I babied that thing for 17 years and I only bought a new car because of a growing family. No lie, I wept when I sold it.
My grandfather's 1966 Malibu. The rear window defroster was an actual fan blowing upward from the trunk through a grating onto the rear window.
The color was Cameo Beige. Funny how we remember things like that!
Mine was a 1997 (R) Ford Fiesta. I got it in 2009. It was a great car. Although the passenger door only opened from the inside and sometimes the radio gave out and I needed to pull in and hit it to make it work. Classic first car. I can even remember the reg number off it.
Simples...

1968 Ford Mustang. My first car at 16.
It was not as good as it sounds.
1989 mustang hatchback. It was my aunts and she tried trading it in and they offered her like 300 for it. So she gave that POS to me in 1997. I sold it in 1998 and bought a 1985 Ford Ranger.
1966 Chevelle, when I was 20. I bought that car off my friend because he wanted a down payment for a new truck. I then proceeded to get in a shitload of trouble in it.
