Do you feel spanking is a form of abuse or a form of discipline?

My belief is , what if your child is doing something you deem immoral , wrong , selfish , or whatever. I fear instead of understanding the complexity / looking into your child’s emotional state or mental state , the parent will just punish the effect not find the root cause which would better them in life - abuse.

I don’t personally subscribe to spanking or physically abusing your child.
I would always side with trying to understand my child and try to communicate / rationalize what is going on to better them for the future. That way instead of a cycle of abuse, it would be a productive conversation to the next generation, that they remember how their parents treated them and continue the good dead forward making the world a better place.

discipline is not about abuse...

but any kind of discipline or "correction" can become abuse when it is just way too much and also uncalled for
