My partner triggers me over via text messages?

we are in a long distance relationship and we were sexting, i told him i needed a break because i had a long day and was exhausted and needed to get some dinner, i said to him we will continue to conversation tommorow and and i made sure his feelings wouldn’t get hurt so i talked to him for few more minutes before ending the text messages.

so the next day i text him and he always and usually replies on time and i was sure there was t anything wrong but he didn’t respond, jnstead he texted me late saying that he was asleep. i didn’t believe his reply and i did feel insulted by this whole thing. and this morning he texted me “good morning “ but he texted it late and not at the usual hour.

my question is how should i respond to something like this?

Your generation relies on texting instead of having actual phone conversations, and that is quite unfortunate. Much of the meaning in our communications is not in the words used, but in the tone of voice, volume, pace, and emphasis. And voice-to-voice communications accomplished much more in a shorter time frame.

If you had been talking instead of texting, you would have both had a better understanding when you ended the call early, and all of this could have been avoided. Now, you are looking for clues in details such as how long it takes him to respond to a text, and how early he makes his first text.

Instead of continuing this texting disaster, why not simply text him and say, "I think we have had an unfortunate misunderstanding and it would be easier to resolve this by actually talking on the phone. What time can I call you today?"
