When you were learning to drive a car, what was the predominant feeling?

In my first driving lesson, the driving instructor tried to make me nervous, and feel totally unprepared for my driving test.

I had earlier given him a time deadline for my driving test date, which was as it worked out, would be 19 lessons. Though they say one lesson for ones age, and I was 19.

In my case I had many years cycling, and motor cycling, and had taken 2 motor cycle tests (the first was a failure).

So unfortunately my first lesson wasn't a success. My next driving instructor was a young guy, not much older than myself, and we had a fun time looking at all the females as I drove passed them.

I met my deadline, and I passed my driving test the first time, with 19 lessons.

I think that I was born to drive. I wasn't afraid at all.

But one day at school I was in driver's education and I had to park the car parallel against the curb when it was time to take the car back to school after our lesson.

All my friends saw me trying to park the car and started acting goofy and screaming - pointing and laughing - trying to make me distracted and mess it up. Those guys! They're such kidder's!! 🙂

I was 16 and drove across the Golden Gate Bridge 🌉 in San Francisco with no problem.

I learned how to drive by watching for years prior to driving. When it was time to drive there isn't much to learn if you pay attention all the years before.

True. The most difficult part of driving is not the technique in itself, it's moving in and around other cars and people who don't pay attention to what they're doing.
