Any quick ideas on getting rid of ants?

I'll spray later but right now it's almost 4am. I put food down for my dog and had to throw it outside since it was covered in ants. Any ideas are appreciated.

Probably the quickest and only way for you for removing ants I'd suggest is to contact pest control.

But definitely before that

1. Don't leave the dog food out for long periods.

2. Block any obviously places the ants are entering from.

3. Clean up any crumbs, store food in airtight containers, empty trash bins regular, seal them if possible or use sealed plastic bags.

4. Remove water source, make sure there's no standing water around your property.

5. Obviously you won't be able to use ants baits because of your dog, even in unaccessible places, just in case.

Or perhaps put down ants baits before you go on vacation.

I did mop the floors got a lot of them gone. got all the pet food off the floor if I didn't have pets I would leave water off the floor as well. It's almost 6am I'm calling it a night.

I've had good results with Terro ant traps. You need to switch them out every three or four months, but they are GOOD!You can get them at Home Depot or Lowe's, though I'd recommend getting them from a small local business if you can (I'm biased towards them 😄).

Like I said, you need to switch them out every so often, but it might give you at least some time to find out where they're coming from and remove the hive, colony... whatever ants live in.

After spraying and the usual pest control, see if you can find the ant hill as it might be somewhere on your property. If you see it, take a hose and drown it out for a while, make sure the ants understand that rebuilding there is a bad idea

Ants follow scent trails. If you can find where they're coming in, you have the best chance of stopping them permanently.

Don't spray it on the dog food, but Windex. Spray it on those ants, kills them instantly.
