Should I get a house that was made in the 1970s? Hows your experience?

Depending on where you live, the electrical system could be a problem. Between 1970 and 1975 they used aluminum wires for household circuits. They stopped using it because too many fires started because it can heat up too quickly. Also, some electrical panels started causing fires like push matic, bulldog, Murray, federal pacific and zinsco. If the house you're considering has any of these, move on to the next house
Not too comparable, as it is a stone/concrete construction, but relatives of mine built their house in the late 1960s. In the last 15 years they had to fix the roof, a leaking pipe, a leaking oil tank and the electrical wiring is now out of building code. The energy inefficient windows will be replaced next ($$$).

Houses built in the 70s were made with heavier material, had copper plumbing. You should check for at least 100 Amp wiring and adequate insulation.
A lot can happen in 50 years. Some homeowners neglected their home for 50 years and now it is in need of replacement windows, doors, a roof, and other things that deteriorate over time. Watch out for that as well
Yes you can buy mine 5 bedroom house at 1 billion dollars...
