Does it worry you?
- 2.3K opinions shared on Other topic.
10 moIt concerns me, I keep it in mind as it is reality.
Concerns me more than an asteroid hitting the planet... but I can see the dints in the moon... stuff happens!
Mostly concerns me getting caught in a bad situation, like a flood or a mountain coming down. I pay attention to that stuff when traveling... so far, haven't had issues.
Some of us are bound to die in climate change events.
Some will die by shark bites and by trees falling on us.
There's lots to be aware of, just put it in proportion so it doesn't control you.
Then determine what you want to do about it in living your life. Me... I don't use plastic bottles and minimize waste. I think about being efficient in planning and ride my bike sometimes. there's a lot more I could do.

10 moNot really, because the planet would need to warm by like 20C to actually cause a mass extinction.
What scares me worse is a volcanic super-eruption sending us back to the ice ages. In the Geological record, Ice Ages and Glaciation have killed more life forms than all other disasters combined, including the 5 "Great Mass Extinctions".
The "Year without a Summer" in 1816 killed over 1 million americans and another million Russians, not counting everyone else who died in that disaster. Imagine what the death toll would be TODAY if Tambora erupted that big again today? We'd probably lose more than 1 Billion souls within the first year of the Volcanic Winter.

17.1K opinions shared on Other topic. Not really. The Earth has been in constant flux since the beginning of time. At one time during the last ice age the ice was up to 2 miles thick in Canada. Also in the present day Arctic it was at one time tropical. So no I'm not worried. It will be a very long time coming. I'm more worried about another super volcano blowing up.

Everyone acts like it's this huge deal but it's natural the earth goes through global warming and global cooling periods there's recorded history of it and it has been going on since before humanity ever had the capability to affect it and even before we were around. It's just the natural process of the world.
It's been happening before us and it'll continue to happen after us nothing you or I is gonna ever be able to stop it. There will be a period of global warming then global cooling then the process will repeat.

10 moNone of this shit worries my. The environmental movement is a scam, it was from the start. It's not about the environment it's about fear and control. It's about land grabs, tax farming, fee harvesting and political power. It needs to be dismantled completely and a lot of people should go to prison.

10 moFirst off, science has shown there's no such thing as global warming, it's climate change, where some parts of the Earth are getting warmer, some colder, and some no change at all.
Does it scare me? No. Our planet has had many climate change periods over its millions of years of existence. There's not much we humans can do to change that. We just have to learn to live with it, and adapt.
20 Reply 1.7K opinions shared on Other topic. No more than asteroids from space do.
The problem is that climate is one of those things that truly the individual does not matter.
If 1 or a million people decide to live like the Amish, it will make zero difference.
We need at least a billion people making the change, for anything to "improve".
10 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Other topic. Not really, humans are naturally going to be wiped out by climate change anyway like many species especially mammals have been so humans speeding it up? Bothers me not.
Might be intriguing to see, naturally would want it to happen later in life but we're all going to die someway might as well be the entire race dying in my generation would be a way to go.00 ReplyGlobal warming is a hoax created by the elites. Don't fall for that bullshit the earth has been colder and warmer in the past. 10 moNo, it doesn't scare me at all. Mother Nature is totally in charge and she has everything handled.
Actually, one of the most positive aspects of the Covid pandemic for me was seeing how quickly nature recovered when humanity settled down and stopped polluting so much. Nature didn't waste any time at all. It made me happy to see!
10 Reply 2K opinions shared on Other topic. According to the actual science of geology, there have been at least 5 ice ages on earth and we are supposedly in the middle of one now. They say we are in an "interglacial period". The earth has been much hotter many times in the past, so I'm not worried about it. All these people who think they know something about global warming know approximately jack shit. That doesn't mean we should keep trashing the environment, though. We have to live here.

10 moDon’t buy into the global warming BS. The earth goes through cycles. It’s never been a stable environment. Don’t let the alarmists scare you.

Go back in time and see the predictions. 1970s “we are heading into an ice age”
1980s-1990s “global warming” but they couldn’t prove the temp was actually going up so….
Switch it to “climate change”
Do you remember AOC saying we only have 12 years before the world was going to end unless we do something…. We are 6 years in and everything is exactly the same now as it was 6 years ago.
Throughout all this climate crisis that we are having, the claim was the oceans would rise and displace people on the coast lines. Mass migrations…..
and yet. The water lever at Plymouth Rock is the same today as it was when the pilgrims landed on it in the early 1500s.
What the “climate crisis” has done is moved trillions of dollars from the tax payers into these companies hands who otherwise wouldn’t see a dime.
Do you know that bill gates has a climate change company that cuts trees down and buries them he claims it traps the carbon that the trees give out under ground. And he gets big government funding to do that. So many of the other climate change projects are equally as stupid, and dangerous. But they all get government money. - 10 mo
@BadApple69
Did you sleep in class when radiation absorption/adsorption of CO2 was a subject?
It will rise the sea level and displace million over a span of multiple centuries.
Politicians are not scientists and media is as accurate about science as about guns. - 10 mo
The earth is always changing and the sun is changing too. Tell me how building windmills will stop solar flares.
Windmills, solar panels, electric cars…. Not a one of them is actually “green”, not a one of them will save this earth from changing.
You talk about CO2…. What is the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere? The answer is 0.04%.
Look I agree we should plant trees not cut them down. But the people screaming “climate change” is trying to convince you and I that if we just give them another trillion $ they can fix climate change. Do you honestly think spraying aluminum, salts and other chemicals in the sky to darken the sun is the right answer? Or like bill gates cutting down trees and burying them is the right answer? Even electric cars pollute MORE and do more damage to the earth than gas powered cars do.
This is where the hoax comes in. If I was to agree that temperatures are changing I would argue it’s the sun that’s the issue and not 0.04% of the atmosphere. The earth is constantly changing. Remember CO2 is plant food. - 10 mo
@BadApple69
Firstly suns activity is being measured.
Secondly if that was the driving factor then the upper atmosphere would be getting hotter not colder dumbass.
Basically you have demonstrated that you don't have the most rudimentary basic understanding of the phenomenon.
Measuring radiation absorption/absorption doesn't require some rare niche equipment you know, yet either all give some false measurements or everyone else around the world is on some grand conspiracy to fool everyone.
The conspiracy is going even so far that companies pretend that they have found practical applications based on a phenomenon that does not exist according to you. - 10 mo
You seem to be a scientist… why don’t you explain it to us ignorant peasants…. We would really like to know what’s going on. Grace us with your knowledge please.
- 10 mo
@BadApple69
You want me to summarise a course lasting several months into a few sentences? Fine.
Basically earth absorbs sunlight (shortwave radiation) and re-radiates energy back as longwave infrared radiation which CO2 molecules (and other greenhouse gasses) in the atmosphere absorb/adsorb to a extent.
Then CO2 re-emits the absorbed energy in all directions with about half returning to the earth.
And no CO2 doesn't do the same to radiation coming from the sun nearly as efficiently. - 10 mo
@BadApple69. You are correct. Pohjolan has no idea what you are talking about. He thinks the science on "climate change" is settled just like I'm sure he believed "THE science" on covid and the eugenics jabs.
He doesn't understand the big money behind these narratives or the fact that such big money can block, ban, censor, mock and threaten the scientists whose research and opinions conflict with the desired narrative in order to make the ignorant public believe that only quacks and charlatans disagree with the self-proclaimed experts.
The technocrats, eugenicists and profiteers are driving a false narrative. Their proposals for curbing climate change cause far more harm than doing nothing at all. Mining, transporting and processing ore, then manufacturing electronic products, electric cars, windmills and solar panels requires far more energy and produces far more waste and destruction than traditional products and energy sources. But look at who profits.
- 10 mo
The technocrats also talk about forcing people into 15 minute, SMART cities. SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) so that everyone's behavior can be monitored, analyzed and reported on 24/7.
Natural resources are monopolized and people banned from using them. People are even banned from hiking in forests, as in Newfoundland, in order to protect the environment and prevent global warming.
Housing is monopolized and food is restricted.
All this and more so that people like Bill Gates and corporations like Blackrock can control everything and get richer.
And what about weather modification. I don't suppose Pohjolan thinks that is happening. Many of the fires and floods are just natural disasters brought on by "climate change", right? - 10 mo
@Lliam
"He doesn't understand the big money behind these narratives or the fact that such big money can block, ban, censor, mock and threaten the scientists whose research and opinions conflict with the desired narrative in order to make the ignorant public believe that only quacks and charlatans disagree with the self-proclaimed experts."
Do tell how they sabotage all the related equipment globally already while it was mostly analogue giving false readings to anyone measuring it? - 10 mo
@Pohjolan I can answer that for you.
Right from NOAA website.
“NOAA adjusts its historical weather data to correct for temperature changes resulting from frequent station moves, as well as equipment and environmental changes.”
So don’t worry. If the temp data doesn’t say what the climate alarmists say they will just correct it so it does.
- 10 mo
@BadApple69
No I'm talking about not so rare equipment in labs. All manufacturers would have to systematically sabotage the equipment worldwide. How would you enforce that?

No they don't. Moreover even if that was the case that wouldn't be enough to upkeep such a grand scheme of conspiracy.
Also what's the incentive for fish and plants to play along? - 10 mo
@Pohjolan just because a natural process is making temperatures go up does not mean that electric cars will fix the problem. If so called global warming is caused by man why did this not happen in the 1800s during the Industrial Revolution? There were smokestacks everywhere and trees were dying because the soot from the factories were causing the leaves to no be able to absorb Oxygen so they died. However as bad as it was, the climate did not get warmer,
- 10 mo
@exitseven
A natural process caused by what? We do know that the sun is not the culprit.
" If so called global warming is caused by man why did this not happen in the 1800s during the Industrial Revolution?"
Firstly it did just not fast. It was called a revolution for a reason. Emissions grew gradually and carbon sinks had more capacity.
Its not a linear growth but more of a S-curve. Later saturation will reduce the growth or actually it already has. (This isn't good news by the way.) - 10 mo
@exitseven
These don't happen for no reason. Tell me how the related equipment is sabotaged by all manufacturers worldwide?
