Some people just freeze during emergencies and don't know what to do. What would you do if you saw someone drowning in, say a lake? Or a river?

Save someone from drowning? Lol, I’d probably go, ‘Hold on, let’s drown together, at least we’ll have company.’ 🤣
But hey, if I spot a floaty or a tree branch, I’ll throw it.. though knowing my luck, I’d probably hit them in the head instead.. 😰
Hope they don’t get a concussion while drowning. 😅
I don’t want to end up in prison though… 🥲
So yeah, better call Baywatch cause if it’s up to me, we’re both doomed for sure ! 😱
It could be worse, you could be the one drowning. Or maybe just drowning in debt.
AS a matter a fact I did. What you said about some people freezing is exactly what happened. It was a friends child & they both stood there with their jaw hanging. I was on the dock & just dove in & a few strokes & I was pulling her up. The little girl didn't even realize she was in trouble.
I have offered to save someone from drowning, does this count?
Someone recently told me they nearly drowned when they was younger, and have been terrified of water ever since.
I guaranteed if they visited the pool with me just once, they would be swimming within one hour.
Up to date they've not taken me up on my offer.
I have my certificate to rescue someone drowning in case it's needed.
Never had to use it before but I did save 1 girl from bleeding out when I found her crashed into a tree
You mean in a car or on a bike?
Yeah, that is the problem with small cars, they are not as sturdy as the big cars/suvs.

Sort of a weird help to a person:
I was sailing on SF bay with a girlfriend and her parents on their sailboat, and there was quite a bit of wind - maybe 25-30 knots. A kid was knocked off the rail of another boat by the boom and went into the water (if you sail, you already know at this point in the description how potentially serious and life-threatening this incident was). I yelled at her dad, who was steering our boat, "man overboard," and pointed to the place in the water where I could just see the kid's head. He changed course, and gave the wheel to my girlfriend who steered the boat toward the spot. As we traveled there, he pulled out a life ring, tossed it to me, and pointed to the spot (you cannot hear much in this weather). As we got close, I tossed the life ring to the kid who miraculously caught it. My girlfriend steered the boat upwind of trhe kid, who was then able to swim a bit and grab a line her father had thrown overboard. Her father and I hauled him to the side of our boat, and then bodily picked him up out of the water and deposited him on the rail of our boat. He was freezng cold and badly shaken but uninjured. In water this cold you have at best about 10 minutes before hypothermia set in and perhaps kills you. I thank God I was able to help on that day.
I have my senior lifesavers badge and I imagine if somebody was drowning I would jump in and try to save them,.
I think a lot of it depends on the condition of the sea at the time and whether or not there is some way to literally climb back on the boat. I've gone swimming in mid-ocean before. As long as I put a ladder down on the boat before I did that. It was not a problem to get back on the boat. The problem is when the conditions are very bad in the ocean and you weren't expecting to go swimming. Or when there is no way to climb back on the boat and you'll fallen off accidentally.
I saved someone from asphyxiation, but it was from choking, not drowning.
"If you see someone drowning LOL"
I never had to save someone from drowning. If it came down to it, I would definitely jump in and save them
I pulled a guy out of the bottom of the pool once, but honestly don't know if he made it.
Oh come on! If this were true you would have checked up on them as would anyone who saved someone's life. You're trolling, aren't you?
No, EMS brought them to the hospital. I have no idea of the name of the person etc. It was at an apartment back in the day and we were all drinking.
Troll!
Lol feel free to DM any other questions, but it's a true story I promise.
They better be drowning in 5 foot or less of water. Cause I never learned to swim!
I would try to throw them something though x
I'm surprised you never learned as you can go to classes for that, even when a kid.
Well, there is always the horse trough.
Yes.
Many times actually.
Are you a lifeguard? Baywatch, here she comes.
Nope. Right time right place.
Yep.
Nope
