How often do you recycle?

We live in a rural area and don't sign up for weekly trash pick up because it would be too much hassle to take bins down our 1/2 mile long driveway and bring them back up.

We save bottle and cans that have a return deposit and take them to the recycling location when we have enough to make the trip worthwhile.

We compost compostable stuff ourselves. We raise worms in a worm bin for the castings. They multiply and we put a lot of them in our compost pile. They turn fruit, veggies, yard scraps and even certain kinds of paper into great soil.

Aside from that, our dump doesn't do recycling anymore, so we just bag up our trash and take it to the dump when we have a full load, which is every 3 months or so. It costs $25 to dump up to a ton.

i have separate barrels for cardboard, paper, plastic and metal. Once a week I go to the dump and put all the stuff in the separate dumpsters that are set up for that purpose.

Every week. Local council does free recycling that gets picked up, the same as wheelie bins. I recycle everything that I can to save space in my wheelie bin and pay less.
