I used to care but now not so much since 80 percent of the world doesn't care, places like China and India generate tons of garbage and we in the West do nothing. It's like the climate accord, it's stupid, they emit 90 percent of the emissions and we tie our hands and pay for what?

Where I live it's mandatory and the city comes to collect it weekly. They get all the money, I just have to do all the work separating it.

I recycle at the curbside (that covers tins, plastics, paper/cardboard)

Take glass to the bottle bank because I like the breaking of it

General metal is a side of my income as well as precious metals

Yeah. The city and a few private collectors provide all the different tons. Plastic bottles and aluminum cans give you 25 ct each.
