I’m not sure about all but I suspect a lot of these people are probably religious.
Religions say homosexuality is a sin and many religious people believe something has to be a choice to be considered a sin.
If you say somebody is born a certain way you are basically saying they didn’t have a choice.

I have had gay friends over the years and yes I believe they were probably born gay.
Now on the other hand let’s look at Hollywood. I believe drugs and crazy parties cause those people to do things that they might not normally do. Example Charlie sheen (just watched a documentary about him). He wasn’t gay and had some very pretty ladies in his life but crack cocaine caused him to have sex with men (now he has HIV) but this was his partying that caused him to sleep with men.
There is no doubt men want sex more than most woman so once comfortable banging men so just go gay when they might not have done that organically. Again in Hollywood and musicians there are a lot of examples of men who were married and then started sleeping with men and now are “gay”.
So I do believe some are born gay while some gay men are created using drugs, alcohol, elaborate parties, and easy availability to other men who want gay sex.

I have know people who were not born homosexual but had an experience that changed them. One woman I knew had been with a guy who got her pregnant. When she went into labor he took her to a hospital and left her. She spent a long time on a gurney in the hall alone before the baby came. It was a physically terrible experience as well as traumatic in ways other than physical. She gave up the baby when it was born. Later, she had friends of both sexes, but was only sexually attracted and active with females.
I have also known people who were homosexual from the beginning of their sexual life.
@Red_Arrow People do not "become homosexual" - they are born that way. Some people become aware of their attractions later on in life, but that does not mean some external event or person caused those attractions, and then they suddenly appeared.
For me its because it goes against the process of life. It takes a man and a women to make a child. A man that thinks he is a women and a women that thinks she is a man can make a kid but the baby is still going to grow in the "womens" womb not the "mans" balls. If everyone woke up tomorrow and we all thought we were the other gender the human race would be gone in basically 100 years. Thats why I have a hard time understanding this. This is a very narrow interpretation of reality. During the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the 1980s, the number of men that identified as homosexual because anal with many partners became less safe, while the number of women that identified as homosexual rose because penetrative sex became less safe. Yes, people are born with predispositions that are further influenced by upbringing, society, laws and in this case health.
I for one celebrate homosexuals choosing homosexuality. The same way that I celebrate heterosexuality, bisexuality, abstinence, profligacy, monogamy, polyamory and... yes... transexual and intersex people that seem to be getting such a hard time of it these days because we seem to have run out of other groups to kick.

The religious assessment I have heard most often is that having homosexual desires is not in itself a sin. The sin is acting on those desires and having homosexual sex.
I am not sure how much of homosexuality I think is inborn and how much is acquired or whether some people like that are born that way and others become that way through environmental influence. I'm not convinced either way.
The Japanese say they've figured out how to screen for and eliminate downsyndrome in children before they are born so there are no more downsyndrome kids born. Then there's the recent cure for Huntington disease.
So if people are born homosexual we should be able to screen for it in the womb and eliminate that genetically or at the very least abort a homosexual fetus.
Or maybe homosexuality and the rising rates of lgbtq in children is a result of chemicals, microplastics and hormones in our food and water as well as vaccinations is what causes homosexuality rather than being born that way. Kids are going through puberty earlier than ever in history 9-12 rather than 13 -16. I myself had developed a pair of D cups by the time I was 12 and was an F cup by the time I was 14.

Also in many countries a fair skinned child is preferred over dark skinned child, and it's been like that for centuries in Asian and European countries but did that technology ever come? One of such disorder is Tay–Sachs disease, which affects infants and kills them at a young age. Jews started a eugenics programme for jewish couples getting married to screen for carriers of this gene so that a male and female carrying it wouldn't marry and produce kids with Tay–Sachs disease.
I know a couple with 4 downsyndrome kids. After the first one their DNA was screened by doctors and the doctors advised them not to have anymore kids together because there was a 60% chance theyd have downsyndrome. They rolled the dice 3 times and each was born with down syndrome.

Just to add that there has been no babies born with Tay–Sachs disease in jewish populations in north America or Israel. At one point 1 out of every 3000 jewish kids got Tay–Sachs disease.

Just like some people are born retarded and there is nothing you can do about it, or some people are born with what they call downs syndrome and there is nothing you can do about, so are some people born homosexual and there is nothing they can do about it accept to convince themselves that it is something good and to be proud of so that they will not feel wrong all the time.
And it is easy to prove it. Just look at some girls for instance who look so masculine and unattractive as females. You would be practically looking at a guy when you look at at a lesbian who looks like a man. Obviously they are born that way. Its a misfortune. They are infact to be pitied. Ideally people are born male and female and there physical attributes support the gender that they are born with. But nature is not perfect. However left alone nature will correct itself. I think it's more that a particular genetic marker for sexual orientation has never been identified. It's much more likely that environment influences a person's sexual orientation so without evidence of some genetic predisposition, it's difficult to believe homosexual people are "born that way."
I think there has been research into this and there is a genetic component to sexuality, and I’m a science guy , so perhaps those people just don’t beleive the science or perhaps religion or their upbringing / parenting plays a bigger role or maybe some people are just ignorant 🤷♂️

They've done brain scans and there's some evidence to suggest that we are born without preferences. I believe that you are neither born with sexual preferences nor do you choose your sexual preference. It just develops as you grow up and it's really not important why.

Most fMRI studies are posted for free, they make you buy the book.

People only use a small percentage of their brain but are capable of completely reprogramming themselves once they figure out how to access more brain power. You can choose the food you like or change any of your preferences or overcome any addiction in a matter of weeks if you learn how to harness the power of your brain. You can completely erase any fear once you learn how. People reinvent themselves all the time this way.

You can be born with certain genetic or hormonal proclivities that make same-sex attraction more likely, but environment and development also play a role. So people are not born homosexual, but they can be born with a higher predisposition toward it though.
Assuming it's biological that means it can be eliminated by ova selection, genetic engineering, or hormonal management (depending on the exact cause). Which a lot of people around the world would do. If you want to see homosexuals are genocided by sperm selection, prove it is biological.

I do not know. I had a friend that was gay. He did not tell me until we were in our 20s. I was completely shocked. He had a girlfriend for a while. He told me that he fought it his whole life and just decided that it was the way God made him.
