Windshield wipers up on car? Scary?

Why did someone put my windshield wipers up in my apartment complex? I was parked in a designated parking spot. The neighbor hood has had car vandalism and other issues. It’s near a mall. Not the best area. I wondered if it were a sign for a gang member to mess with it?

When I was younger. The guys used to like to pull up the wipers. If unlocked. They would turn the radio and heater up full blast. Mess with the mirror adjustments. Nothing broken. Just like a calling card that “We got you!”
if. If nothing was broken. I would say that it was mischief.

The only time I've seen people do that, and a time when someone may do it as a favor for others, is right before a snowstorm. I makes clearing the snow and ice on the windshield easier after the storm. Other than that, it's a weird behavior.

Well, your answer is it was parked in a apartment complex someone probably playing games with you hopefully it was just some bored kid if it doesn't happen again i would not worry too much about it.

Was there a penny in your door handle? A chalk mark on your tire? Those are all signs that you are being setup for a carjacking.

While I wouldn't be happy about someone touching my car, if all they did was lift the wiper blades I wouldn't worry overmuch. Probably just stupid kids. Gang members would have stolen it.

It can mean don't park there or someone is letting you know they are watching you

Here people do that if you parked too close to their car or their driveway. 🤷‍♂️
