Have you ever intervened in a Spousal abuse incident?

I have on two occasions. Once while driving with my SO when I was 27, we saw a man throw a large rock through the window of a parked car with a woman inside. We were on an Interstate highway at night. My SO Screamed for me to stop, and I did. At that point in time, with me being 27 and the abuser somewhat older and DRUNK, it was not difficult, to stop the assault. We took the woman in my car to a Highway Patrol station or a Sheriff's office. Her hair was full of broken glass from the window, and her face was cut. A terrible situation to say the least.

The second incident, in a parking lot, when I was in the Police Academy, with an asshole holding a girl by the Hair, and threatening her in the car. I did not take my 'duty weapon' with me or my Baton, and the guy was the size of a bus. Another couple stopped and we called the Police. The asshole took off. I wish now that I had the baton and at least would have broken his forearm or his hand.
