Yes i think so. Seems like the rest of the world wants to have a pity party thou... Life is what you make it. I make everyday the best I can. Spring and summer are seasons of growth and abundance, the earth shares all good things. Fall and winter is like recharge mode. The earth doesn't have extra energy to give it needs to rest and repair so like battery's its our job to put the wonder and amazement into life with ideas like Christmas and Thanksgiving... I dont have it in my heart to take a good thing like the idea of Christmas and Thanksgiving and ruin it with a pity party. Im to grateful for all I do have to think about what I dont. So yes this is the most wonderful time of year. I can feel the magic in the air.

It blows my mind how everyone sees all the things they do have, and all they think about is what they still "need"...

No, it's a random set of dates on a calendar that people have chosen to celebrate a fall harvest, the winter solstice, and mark the completely arbitrary beginning of a new trip around the sun. Every time of year is wonderful if you want it to be. Reset your mind and stop letting other people define your life.

And as @SueShe said, in the USA at least, these holidays have become so commercialized that they are almost repulsive in their Capitalistic greed. They have lost all meaning for me other than a chance to get together with people I like and share some great food and drink. But we can do that any time of year.

Patiently awaiting the answer from @abbycado to have a good laugh at her answer. Get ready for something probably saucy or at least putting you down a way or another. I know she has you in her gun sight and will not hesitate to take a virtual shot at you. As for me, I don't think that it is the most wonderful time of the year as it is mostly a mercantile time, just like Easter and all those festive moments where stores are hoping to make a good business on the back of the people. I avoid this time of the year whenever possible...

From November till February it's the worst time of the year. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's Day are miserable for the lonely.
