Is this cannibalism?

Question

When we were growing up we would watch a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and it always really bothered me that at the end, Woodstock is clearly eating turkey. Like, isn't that cannibalism? Like, omg, here , my own parents, have forced me into watching such horrors in the alleged safety of my own home while laughing and mocking my growing concerns for the affairs of the world. You all see why I need therapy? I tried calling human services but they said I'm too old.

I don’t think it is because Woodstock isn’t a turkey. It’s stranger that it seems to be using utensils to eat than it is that it’s preparing to eat turkey. Notice that the bird isn’t carved yet. The resolution isn’t great, but there also doesn’t appear to be meat on its plate. Ell oh ell!
Interestingly, before throwing pronouns around, i had to look up Woodstock’s sex. More modernly the bird is thought to be male, but was originally thought to be female because its role began as Snoopy’s secretary. Apparently Woodstock’s sex was never clearly established.

Lol! I mean in fairness, in nature bigger birds do eat smaller birds all the time. Woodstock is just getting justice for all the little birds out there. 😅

You know, my grandparents used to raise chickens (yes the parrot grandparents) around 10 years ago and whenever a chick died due to injury or illness my grandma would throw it on the soil and all those hens and roosters would start pecking it and eating it.

I was a 5 year old watching the horror.

I think genetic distance between different bird sorts is higher than between humans and mammal cattle. It's unlikely Woodstock is a turkey, so it's unlikely a case of cannibalism. Your concerns are pointless, your funding application for psychotherapy rejected by healthcare insurance.

Well a woodpecker isn’t a Turkey. Birds are birds…. Just like mammals are mammals we as humans may be mammals… And we eat other mammals.

Now some vegan might tell you differently but that isn’t cannibalism when a person eats a cow is it? I don’t think so.

If he was eating another woodpecker. Yeah I would be concerned.

No, Woodstock isn't a turkey.  Cannibalism is eating the same species.  It's like asking "is it cannibalism if a human eats pork" (both pigs and humans are mammals).

Nope it's a cartoon and they are Two different types of birds. Also Raptors/Birds of prey go after other birds and scavengers like magpies go after other birds and eggs.
