What noise is the most annoying noise that wakes you up while you're sleeping 😴?

Question

Waking up to some noise that someone or something is making can really start your day off in a bad way, especially when you weren't planning on waking up just yet.
For me it's my next door neighbor who turns on his music 🎶 at 1:30 a. m., and then I can't get back to sleep. 💤 😴
I have visions of getting my hammer 🔨 and repeatedly hitting the wall when he's sleeping 😌 and waking him up when he's not ready to wake up.

I don't know of any. I tend to sleep through it all.
The only one I can think of was when I was a kid and I was sleeping here in the same bed with my grandmother.
I'm sound asleep but the Sun is shining through the window in front of me and that's KINDA waking me up and it caused me to notice these sounds that kept repeating! One sounded like someone just hit a softball out in the street and the other sounded like a large group of people cheering! So, I kept hearing, POCK... YYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!! POCK... YYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!
It sounded SO MUCH like some of the local kids playing baseball in the street in front of the house and loads of people cheering each time the batter got a hit! I was verry sleepy but couldn't wait to wake up so I could go out front and play with the kids!! Eventually, I did wake up only to realize those sounds were coming from my grandmother's mouth!! "YYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!" was her exhaling and, "POCK!!" was her inhaling with the back of her throat opening with each inhale! I got up, looked out the window and no one was there!

When I first moved out on my own, I rented an apartment in a triplex. My next door neighbor was a big dumb jock. I would hear booming sounds coming from his apartment and discovered that he was bouncing a basketball on the hardwood floor. He wasn't dribbling but he would bounce it every few seconds. It made the entire floor shake.

I asked him to stop but he got all aggressive. So, one night when he and his girlfriend were asleep, I used a tennis ball to play catch with myself - throwing it against the floor to ricochet against his bedroom wall, and back to me. He started pounding on the wall for me to stop but I kept it up.

I also told the landlord about him and they evicted him.

Other annoying sounds are those that are incessant like a smoke alarm chirping once a minute to say that battery is dead.

And one time there was a male dove that would perch outside my window and coo loudly beginning at dawn before I had to get up. Coo cooooo, coo cooooo, coo cooooo. It drove me nuts.

Not much wakes me up. When I was little, my mother told her friends that they could set off a nuclear bomb under my bed and I wouldn't wake up.

I kinda like hammer idea, but it might damage your wall. Why not fight fire with fire. After he turns his music off, meaning he's finally going to bed, play Beethoven's Fifth as loud as you can. 😉

Being fine-tuned to the audible rhythms of properly operating household appliances, the telltale sounds of problems with plumbing or HVAC equipment, no matter how faint, have my eyes instantly popping wide open.

That's not quite in keeping with what I perceive as your intent in asking the question, but that's what comes to my mind.

I live near a railroad main line, flight path for the nearby airport, and a six Lane highway. I sleep right through all of them. Even the loud trucks and motorcycles. But when one of those ghetto cruisers go by my house with that loud boom speaker, it wakes me right up.

Two cats fighting. Sometimes at first it sounds like a baby crying i could be in a dead sleep and I will hear it and jump out of bed. Then I realize it's two cats fighting. And sometimes i've gone outside and broke them up through water on them

Any tools which remember me on those obsolete air driven dental end pieces with ridiculous speeds of 19k RPM. Which burn tissue even cooled with a ton of water and generate specific smell of burnt fingernails and plastic. After my first covid everything smelled like this for months, so I'm a little bit allergic to this smell and everything that sound like that.
Some tools like dremers and car tool sound similar and this sound gives me an ick.
