Should I adopt?

I found a dog on my local animal shelter’s website and immediately fell in love with her. Her name is Jade and she’s a little over 3 years old. I noticed “a rescue needed” tag under her photo which led me to believe Jade has a possible medical or temperament issue. I decided to go to the animal shelter anyway to meet Jade and find out more about her. The volunteers quickly gave me a heads up about her medical condition. She is currently taking antibiotics for a uti and has crystals in her urine which will require a costly prescription dog food for the rest of her life and also frequent vet visits. I fell even more in love with her when I officially met her despite of this. She’s very sweet, playful, and has the energy of a puppy. I also learned that her previous owner surrendered her to the shelter due to the vet bills. I know that I’m not in a financial standing myself to take on this responsibility. This would also be my first time adopting a dog. I live with my boyfriend who be able to be home with her until I able eligible to transition to a hybrid wfh schedule with my current employer. Jade has now been in the animal shelter for about a month. She’s all that I think about now to the point where I get emotional. So far, the advice I received is to adopt Jade, speak with a vet, or to just look for another dog.
