Do you believe it’s animal abuse to let your pets get fat?

100%. Either end of the extreme is abuse. It’s abuse to starve your animal, and it’s abuse to over feed them to the point of obesity, as that leads to poor quality of life, joint pain and issues, and short life spans due to heart failure and other organ problems.

It depends. Sometimes your pets get fat despite your best efforts, just like your kids do.

If their really fat. In the U. K. a coupl were fined because their Labrador Retriever was really fat. I think the TV said it was unhealthy. If I remembr rite it weighed ovr 100 pounds. Males weigh 60 - 75 pounds. Females 55 -70.

It's a pet owners responsibility to take care of a pet. Pets can't self regulate food intake in many cases. Pets can't always exercise at their own discretion.

It's a sure fire way to shorten their lifespan and introduce health issues very early on
