"Would you die for me"?

This was inspired by @HawkPerception who asked, If you died right now, what regrets would you have?

We've all seen it in movies or read about it in grand stories where someone heroically or tragically dies for someone else for whatever reasons. Now this might seem noble and get audience sympathy and all that but how many of us would really do it? We prolly will never really know until the moment comes. I mean, part of me would like to believe I would be so selfless as to sacrifice myself for some greater good or whatever but the reality is, I would prolly stand there like a deer in the headlights and let whatever happens happen without me. This is partly due to the fact that while dying might have romantic tendencies for some people, I personally don't think that would be the best career choice for me. I mean, seriously, if asked "Would you die for me?", My reply is, "Um... don't you think I could be a little bit more productive if I was still alive?"

I mean, I don't think I could really get all that much done if I was dead. Not that I get all that much done during the long, miserable winter either, since I pretty much just hibernate as much as possible and whine about the long, miserable winter.

And ask questions on G@G like, "Would you die for me?"

Well i can honestly say that would not be the plan.. I have put myself in harms way many time.

And when doing so it is a split second decision , it plays out in so slow motion as your going through from start to finish

I was in Washington meeting my real dad I went to work with him one morning and he wanted to go see his sister and introduce me to her on the way back

As we were driving may 5000 yards in front of us was a stop sign we were talking and all of a sudden we see a fire truck lights on and another car impact the firetruck was not a big truck it's was one with a king cab hoses reels on it but was rolling in the air wet off the road rolled few more times was front bumper down in tall grass marshy area was on fire as it all was playing out in my head I yelled stop stop as in my head the closer we got we would have really been getting further from it because of all the other obstacles and tall grass I new there had to be mud water

As I yell stop stop I was out of the van down the side of the road running as fast as I could the grass was getting taller and now basically blind each step I would take the moment my foot him the ground I was pushing off because it was now mud
I could still hear my dad yelling at me noon

I could see liquid running out of the car, but I didn't smell gas. As I went around the vehicle, I just kept sinking in the mud front windshield was gone one guy was trying to get his seat belt undone. He's screaming.

I pushed him back.\n And I cut his seat belt, and he fell\n Down onto the door. And then he was trying to push me out of the way to get out of there. The driver was waking up i got up underneath his shoulder to take the pressure off of the safety belt because I had dropped my knife.\n I unclicked the seat belt and all his weight. We both went down into the water.

The mud I heard voices.\n The driver was kind of on top of me.\n And then all of a sudden he just went flying off of me, somebody had pulled him off of me. Then they help me up and next thing. I know we're just trying to go through the marsh I yell no this way this wait, because the way that I came in
was the driest.\nAnd your legs didn't sink all the way down to your knees
that liquid was not gas, it was water. But at the same time, there was gas, and the motor was still running. I don't know why we didn't turn it off but anyway.\n I didn't plan on dying that day either for anybody. But the police officer that pulled the guy off the top of me told me that there was gas leaking and that all over everywhere all it would have taken is the right little gentle wind to blow the fumes. The right direction , and it could have been over
The strange part is i built gas stations for 25...27 years and just a little hint. Of fumes of gasoline, I smell it cause I don't like that smell, but it wasn't until I got back to my dad's Van that I could actually smell gas. All over me

So to answer your question\n All I can say is that no matter what happened, it's not meant to be that way?

I wouldn't plan on it, but in the same type of scenario. If it happen then I guess so. But that wouldn't be the plan. The plan would be to save you and myself

Time is time that has no time every thing is happing so fast and slow motion all at the same time even all the scenarios rushing through your head, there's only one that stays there and that is focus and time. You have no time , you gotta move it lol.

My dad was pissed he said I was on time out when we got back to his house. The police officer was the brother of the fire truck driver , he said , thank you , and then my dad got a phone call from my aunt telling us we had to go down to the courthouse and I got a plaque.\n I said, thank you for saving the lives of 2 firemen.

So if it has to happen if it's going to happen , will you please do it like in chocolate pudding or something

The question is what is gained for dying for you? Graveyards are full of people who died for someone yet that someone did nothing with their lives.

People say they'd die for their country, war cemeteries are full of people who died with firing a shot or contributing anything to the war effort.

Die for what you believe in? Again did it produce a change or are you just a forgotten corpse? Let's remember the nazis died for what they believed in.

So nope. Unless my demise is going to make a massive improvement to the world I'm not sticking my neck out.

I would die for my country, daughter, mother, father and wife (maybe). No, I wouldn't die for you. I might make a phone call, like if you're stuck under a flipped over tractor or got your arm ripped off by a PTO or something.

I would very probably risk my life trying to protect and save you, yes... as I've done a couple of times for others that I didn't know... it was more of an impulse, and I didn't think much of it that I could die

I see this as a metaphor. Under the right circumstances yes, i would. Id trust you enough to blindly follow you. Or as they say; if you told me to jump off a bridge, i could trust you enough to do it. Even if I thought it was a bad idea. However, I feel that way because I trust you dont want me to die. The paradox to "would you die for me" is trusting that person doesn't want you actually die. Blind faith combined with freedom and trust in just the right way.

I think I am a very noble, and practical guy, so definitely, yes, I would help you out with your dilemma.

I've never been involved in anything like this previously, but dyeing for you would be a pleasure.

I think there would have to be a chance of me surviving, if I was brave enough to undertake the mission, and therefore I don't think I would sacrifice myself for anyone.

But I'd like to think I would make the right decisions.
