Are you completely off the grid, drawing water from a well, with solar panels for electricity? How much food have you stored? Do you have ground to grow food? How much fuel do you have for the RV? They don't go all that far on a tankful. Do you have an external rack for gas containers? How much can you carry? Where would you go? How many heavily armed people (assault rifles at a minimum) do you think you could defend against?

I have a more rural destination to go to. This area is largely conservative and away from populated areas. My RV holds 70 gallons of fuel, and I get about 12 miles to the gallon. The generator can run 72 hours on continuous run, depending on what is being utilized.

Actually my tank holds 75 gallons, and I get roughly 10 miles to the gallon.

he's not wrong with his bug out plan. My only criticism would be that if he needed to get out of the city fast hed find himself jammed up in the highways. I've a Toyota hilux. I intend to load up with extra jerry cans and go as far as I can refueling when and if I can, then on foot if I have to. I've ARs , shotguns and rifles as well as body armor but I know if im on the run for my life with my family id have to abandon them and just carry a glock with a few magazines.

Yes among other things like natural disasters, extreme weather, EROL, Food& water shortage, solar flare, pandemics, EMP, terror attack, chemical attack, nuclear power plant meltdown, biological warfare, economic crash, volcanic winter there are so many and thats not even doomsday scenarios. The choice between having to hunker down in the shelter or bug out. You can plan for these things but sometimes things just go wrong. Covid was a good dry run for me, showed we were on the right track with our food and water prepping, that we could get by without needing to leave home which we did for 3 months. The Ohio train derailment was another warning sign no matter how unlikely it is to happen near us.
