Why do young people like to act as if they're old?

I felt this question in my soul because I have a coworker and she’s 32 while I’m 28 and she talks to me like I’m 16. She thinks she is so much more mature and experienced than me like we have a huge difference of age. When someone knows their worth you don’t need to constantly bring up your age to prove a point. We get it you were born before me.
