That's small, even ny European standards. And they live in very cramped spaces compared to here in the states.

If you're British, this might not be too much of a shock but even then, you're really pushing the word minimal to its limits. You can hardly walk around without kicking something there.

I suggest a different arrangement long term, especially for when you get a girlfriend and you need twice the space when you already have half the space you need with that room.

But maybe you're ten times smarter than I and can make it all work with even less space, but even then, wouldn't you like to breathe?

I think so, but it's missing a kitchen and a bathroom. If it has those 2, then it's perfectly fine.

I think so. If you dont cook, and you have a bathroom available, I think its perfectly fine. I think in North America here, because we have a low-density culture, in comparison to Japan for example, we tend to highly value spaciousness. If you were to compare your this apartment to one in Japan, its nice! You have room for a desk, a closet, you have a chair at the end the bed, a nice window... its great! I think some people might judge differently here, again due to social norms.

It looks like a prison cell. No window even. Why don't you go out and talk to people? Join groups, take classes, get jobs where there are a lot of people, go to church, volunteer for charity organizations? There's a million things better you can do than spend all your time there alone. Make it so you can't wait to get home because you've been so busy with other people.

Well if you loft the bed that will give you more floor space put the desk underneath the lofted bed that's even more floor space
