Are high gas prices affecting your dating life?

Are high gas prices keeping you from going places, taking your date out on day trips, or planning vacations to the mountains? Or have you found alternate ways to enjoy time with your special someone by staying in or close to home?

I am married now, so not dating, but if I was single. . . the price of gas has gone up about $1.00 per gallon in my area, and my vehicle gets about 25 mpg. That means my cost of operating the vehicle has increased by $0.04 per mile. I would rarely drive more than 100 miles on a date, unless I was dating a woman who lives in another city. (My wife lived in Gainesville, about 80 miles away, when I met her.)

So if I drove 100 miles on a date, my increased operating cost is $4.00. That would never be a reason to change plans for a date.

I don't date, but gas prices are not affecting me. Gas isn't even all that high now. Plus it's already dropped quite a bit. Prices are actually pretty low. Maybe not as low as in recent times, but still low. They are half what I've seen in the past.

People have just gotten spoiled by the very low prices we've seen in recent years.

Work is a short drive as is my mom and dad's house. It takes me over a week to go through a tank of gas so it's not a big deal yet.

I would need to have a dating life in the first place for anything to affect it. The only thing affecting my dating life (in the most fundamental of ways) is the insane, bloodthirsty feminism that makes interacting with a woman feel more dangerous than a game of Russian roulette. I also only need to refuel my car twice a month at worst, so I can totally stand these rises. If they get a bit worse, though, I might be temporarily forced into public transport.

When I was younger it was. I was paying like $4.50 a gallon at one point. Luckily that girl lived nearby and when I was on tinder, being able to drive far was almost a status symbol in of itself 😂. Yeeaaaa, one hour? No problem, I love driving

Nah I have owned trucks for 20 years. I am used to being bent over at the pump. Still not even close to expensive as it was during covid. I was up to a dollar a minute to drive during that gas spike.

Nope. Though high petrol prices plus my vets office being renovated so having to go to one further away plus both my cats needing the vet in the same week definitely is having some effect 😪

Not a lot, but I try to spend my money a little bit more carefully than I could when there was plenty of it when prices were lower. I may actually be saving money.
