Am I wrong to think putting a treatable diabetic cat down is evil?

Someone I know has a cat which 3 months ago was diagnosed with diabetes, they refused to treat it and left the cat to suffer for 3 months and 5 days, they had the cat put to sleep yesterday, they said the parents won't pay out for the cat either, a d I told them different ways to help the cat but they shut me down everytime I made a suggestion, and I'm thinking it was just an excuse to get rid of him, am I wrong for thinking putting a treatable cat to sleep is wicked and evil?

I don’t know if I would go as far as to see evil, but I don’t see why it’s necessary to kill him because he has diabetes. Seems like it would be just as easy to let him sit there with diabetes than it is to finish him like a game of mortal combat.

Absolutely not there were better ways to go about it then putting the cat down. putting it up for adoption would of been a better option.

But diabetes can be managed. They should never kill an animal because of that. They could’ve adopted the Cat out if they don’t wanna pay for the diabetes treatment, it’s not that much money
