A cat started hanging out in my garage, and I started feeding it. When the vets open I'm going to take the cat to get scanned for a microchip. If it doesn't have one then I was gonna give it to the humane society. It has really good reviews. Like 4.7 stars with 200 reviews. The thing is that I used to take my dog there to get his claws trimmed for $5, and every time they would end up cutting one of his quicks. I understand it happens sometimes but it happend everytime. I'm afraid that of they are that careless cutting claws, then they'd be careless with the cat. What do you think?

That's a tough call dude. On one hand, if you leave the stray cat at that humane society, it'll have a better chance of getting adopted out since they're a big facility with good reviews. But you're right to be worried if they're not careful even just trimming dog nails.
Cats are smaller, so messing up could hurt them even worse probably. And they might get stressed being at a shelter too. Maybe you could ask around your friends first and see if anyone wants a new pet before dropping it off? Or post on social media in case someone local is looking to adopt.
If no luck after a bit, then I'd say take the cat to a different vet's office you trust more instead of the humane society. Explain the situation, hopefully they can scan for a chip and also check the cat out to make sure it's healthy first before you leave it with them. At least that way you know it'd be in safer hands.
Up to you man, but I wouldn't want to risk that cat getting hurt just cuz the staff isn't careful like with your dog. Worth trying other options first if you can, in my opinion. The cat depends on you now!
We have a no-kill animal adoption shelter near us. We've adopted cats from them before. Have you checked to see if there is a place like that near you?
