I am aware of this and find it's not only reading, listening to different media forms also helps stimulate different parts of the brain. I listen to audio books, podcasts and news and each one I find can be added to another after to extend listening time beyond boredom.

Reading technical or analytical content recruits the prefrontal cortex. That is not going to happen from watching reaction videos on YouTube or TikTok nonsense like so many people do.
