While it does, it really matters on the level one is reading on. For instance, if a person is only reading children or young adult books, then they may not get as much knowledge vs reading philosophy books like Friedrich Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil or Søren Kierkegaard's Fear and Trembling.

Honestly, I'm still not well-read but I'm more well-read than many people I know and have a more insightful perspective on worldly things because of it. I think reading books like I listed above has helped me have a stronger discerning vantage.

Depends on the books and their content and how well you, as the reader, understand it. Otherwise frequent reading just improves your literacy skills.

- Creativity & empathy: Fiction, in particular, strengthens imagination and understanding of others.

It’s not “magic,” though: quality, challenge level, and consistency matter more than page count.
