Most people just want sex and no love and no relationship, yet most songs are about love.
I guess there isn't much to sing about just having sex.
Maybe there's something to that. 🤔

I dreamed of romance when I was a kid. Then in high school, when a started having girlfriends, I was still interested in romance and infatuation. But, that point, I was high energy, into rock music, and wasn't into schmaltzy romantic music.
I didn't gain appreciation for oldies romantic music until after I was married in my 40s.
So I'm wondering of most young people are the same way. There is still a market for romantic music, though, because modern country music is full of schmaltz.
The other thing is, I think a lot of people are more afraid of romance and connection than they were in the past. For centuries, love and marriage were the norm.
But that gradually began to change in recent times, especially since the advent of the internet in 2000 or so.
Kids have grown up in greater isolation from contact with others because they are dependent on "devices". They have been watched over and protected all their lives, so they never experienced independence, self-reliance or adventure. They are afraid of hard work, commitment, heartbreak and divorce.
With so many two income families and the normalization of unwed mothers, many have lacked healthy male/female role models.
Music videos and concerts have become more and more degenerate with things that wouldn't have even been allowed in previous decades.
Since the advent of internet, radical feminists and manosphere influencers have poisoned people's minds with distrust, resentment and dislike of the opposite gender. Fear causes enmity and dehumanization.
Sex is a primal urge that most people seek to satisfy. But, given what I have proposed, it is no surprise that more and more people reject real human connection, romance and commitment in favor of mere physical gratification.
Yet there are still some songs about romance. Maybe deep inside, behind the fear, people still have an instinctive longing and desire to be loved and cherished.
That is true that I don't want any relationship. My priorities are elsewhere and those priorities take up all my free time, including on weekends and holidays (well most of them anyway except for perhaps 2 weeks).
I have never been a romantic person and have always just been rational. Romanticism involves irrational behaviors otherwise there is no such thing as romanticism in my eyes.
Also, I am not a fan of modern music, meaning anything after the 1970's because to me, it is no longer music but mostly noise and recitation.
The music of the 1950's-1970's were indeed more romantic and the kind of songs that insult people and women in particular were non existent.
Historically songs have been all about love but are there recently written love songs?
Can anyone nominate one? i have given up listening to radio for a few years now so I might have missed out.
I'd say lots of songs have been about sex but coded as lust for beauty. Pretty Woman for example seems to be more about lust and getting lucky.
They just listen to them without the intention to understand the lyrics, just a cool song being played that's all!
The real love songs which really gives you these beautiful intense feelings are all from the past, because people backthen were eager to live this kind of love and romance, even the artists sang these songs from their hearts, because they wanted the audience to react with their songs!
It's the longing for what
that was once normal and achievable nowadays love is complicated and by putting it in music it might be a way to keep the romance keep going till the end of the time.
I bet if you asked them they would tell you they would want a loving relationship.
Dreaming of the perfect match and finding them are two different things.
@Cidknee
People on here have said that women only want sex and no relationship.
So, what's the big deal about matching up for sex?
I mean, my cat 😺 has sex and no relationship. Right?
Why not? Are you down for that type of hookup? 🩶 it could be the perfect way to break the ice.
I think it is the younger generation (30 or younger) that does not want love or relationship.
Typically people mid to late 30s or older probably want it more.
@sage2021 old traditional,
but it’s slowly changing from romance to just sex.
Love sells just like sex and drugs and the news media has the corner market on bad news
@sage2021 nice to listen to
