100 % , look I'm an extremely fit older guy , with great capacity for running , walking , swimming etc , I always give up my seat , here ( there are many poor ) I will give them the seat and pay their fare to the driver.

I was brought up as a kid to give up my seat , and it continues , I'd like to think I will be still able to do same at 100 years , but in general respect those who are older.

In Asia they respect age a little too much , sometimes to the detriment of the individual, so I'm well aware of that , but the offer must be made.

I think there is a kind of ranking people have in their heads of who needs the seat the most, with young healthy men needing it the least and frail older people and pregnant women needing it the most, but also, anybody with a handicap or health issues, or who just looks really tired like they are covered in sweat and breathing heavy, there are different levels. For me as a healthy young woman I would give up my seat to anybody frail or pregnant. I have been offered seats by young or middle aged men and I do take the seat as long as they look able bodied, I feel like it would be rude not to take it. JMO!

If someone looks old and frail, I'd give up my seat and I'm 70. It would also have to be according to how tired that young person is. That giant man in the picture looks neither tired nor frail. That old lady looks pretty much both!

I definitely have grown as a person over the years. I still believe in the basic idea, but I have learned from experience that reality is always a little more complicated than we think. As we grow, meet new people and experience life, it is natural to change some beliefs and strengthen others.

think of organ transplant. it is a line. kidney transplant or liver transplant. whichever match asked first. also in limited seats whoever got first. the bus DOES have for handicap but old is not handicap.
