How long do you wait on somebody before giving up on them?

If it's a love relationship that's on the rocks, probably if I don't hear from them in a week, I'm done!

Time is not so much a factor there then, I’ll keep trying for what I want until I realize it’s just not possible.

Yes that makes sense, but don't you consider thinking about that time you can use elsewhere if you stick around until you realize it's not possible? How long will it take to realize? 🤔

I am slow letting people in so I understand it can take time. Most people get impatient with you when they feel you are trying for something they don’t want. That usually doesn’t take long. If they’re even considering something, you can sense it. If I was so busy I was worrying about using my time on something else, then I probably didn’t want them enough to keep trying because I’d have so much other stuff going on already.

Yea I guess that makes sense, although you can want something and it won't always be worth the effort, isn't it important to know when to stop trying?
