How do you feel about filing a complaint?

Supplement question: does it get you anywhere, further, from filing said complaint or complaints. Or do you go through life, without formal complaining? Could be services, could be your insurance or your health cover, whatever, etc

I think most complaints are thick on emotion and short on substance. I think more people that don't complain need to. And more people that complain now need to STFU. I think most mechanism in place for complaints are well intended but fall way short of their goal. Because there is strong disconnect between the CEO's in their ivory towers and the grunt working on the ground. A CEO's allegiance will always be to the shareholder. Rthey have a fiduciary respinsibility to him/her. But the customer is the company's lifeblood. And it's not that CEO's forget that. But it's always a numbers game. Two things go through a company's mind when it comes to unahappy cutomers. And that is 1. What will it cost to makes our customers happy. What do we have to change, implement, etc. And 2. What is our competitors doing in the same area. And i say this second one be cause every business knows they don't have to be perfect, they only have to be better than their competitor. I used to work for a VERY SUCCESFUL company (i only worked there a little over 20 years. And in that time was given a half million worth of company stock👍). And the company's business model was "this is how far we're willing to go to make our customers happy. If they don't like it, by all means go to our competitor". And they did this because they believed what they had to offer was far better than our competitors. And that after you go to them, and are disappointed by them, you'll come back to us. Well, they've been in business over 50 years. They've been a publicly traded company for the past 43 years. With a growth rate of over 25,000% over the past 40 years. And they growing even faster today. I mean their stock is up over 50% just this year. So, they're doing something right.

I usually do not bother because it is a waste of time. Sometimes I find another way to get satisfaction.

The only downside to complaints is - lawsuits by either party are so expensive and that's a real bummer versus the formal complaints policies for outcomes that satisfy the customer.
