I would argue that a brightly colored swim cap is more useful than a brightly colored swimsuit, for most “swimmers”. As Poppy pointed out, chartreuse is the safety go-to, but if you like to live dangerously and swim at night, you want something reflective to catch any searchlights. If you’re really about that safety life, there are swim buoys you can buy that actually have strobe lights in them and safety watches with GPS built in to help rescuers pinpoint your location.

You would want the complementary color to the blue water for best visibility ins case of an accident, so that would be a yellow/orange neon.

Yellow or pink. Basically they recommend wearing anything that is bright. The brighter, the better. It is so that if there is an emergency that requires lifeguard assistance you are easily spotted.

They say to avoid colors like white, blue, grey and other soft colors that would easily blend in with the water, waves or sky. Green is another one unless it is a bright green. They sell these wristbands where I live for those going out on the lake or pools at large resorts. They are neon colors and serve the same purpose.

Chartreuse, it stands out a mile in all conditions. Yellow is second.

Pink looks like it should but can actually disappear under low light.

Black just makes you look like a tasty seal.

White is good too, you can see seagulls miles out at sea very easily and white yachts pop out. 99% of sea anglers will clip on a white lure at night, highly visible

Bright colours tend to show up better under water. Neon pink, yellow, orange. Best believe my future children will be walking around beaches and pools looking like a pack of highlighters

I would say pink. White and blue will be almost invisible, even at a depth of a few feet below water that is mainly blue (due to reflection of the sky).
