I think they're close friends…the woman opens up about the problems she's been having with her partner, expressing her frustration and emotional exhaustion…as she went silent, the man genuinely tries to figure out how he can help her while also finding the right words to make her realize that the relationship has become toxic. It's a difficult conversation because this isn't the first time they've talked about it.. he has already warned her multiple times and encouraged her to leave. Now, he's struggling to balance being supportive with helping her understand that staying in such an unhealthy relationship is only causing her more pain…
