What is the single best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

I can’t remember who told it to me, but some guy I met in my late teens or early 20s told me, in response to my lamentations of never being able to consistently get into workout routine: “If you do something 21 days in a row, you can expect it to be a habit.”

Now, I don’t know if I can verify the science behind that, haha; but it did inspire me to, not work out EVERY day for 21 days, but to do it every other day for 21 days, with a home weight set, and then I felt good about signing up for that gym membership that I could only questionably afford at that point in my life.

But that’s what set me on the path, and I can only imagine how many benefits it’s brought me, health-wise, socially, mentally, etc. I’ve had layoffs due to injury, but other than that, I’ve gone to the gym consistently for over 25 years now💪
