Does it feel to you like time is moving faster or slower than it did fifteen years ago?

Would it surprise you to know that the Earth is spinning measurably slower due to a man-made object shifting the planet’s axis?
NASA confirmed this about a year ago. The Three Gorges Dam in China displaced 40 billion cubic meters of water, shifting the Earth’s axis by 2 centimeters and slowing the rotation of the planet by 0.06 microseconds. This change is both negligible in terms of our ability to perceive its effects on the world and life on it, as well as being significant for a man-made structure. It had been theorized that major geologic events have such influence on the Earth’s axis, but this is the first time in recorded history that human beings have demonstrated such an acutely measurable effect.
Maybe just a touch of hubris too. We can’t really know what the long term effects might be. I’m curious what predictions modeling software might offer us in the near and moderate future.

Which way did the Earth tilt, up or down. Perhaps we could build dams around the world and tilt the planet to our will. Might even be possible to steer it.

As a sphere, any tilt shifts both poles and you could probably describe it by saying the north pole shifted “downward” while the south pole shifted “upward”.
I was kind of thinking the same thing. If we could accurately predict major earthquakes, using man-made superstructures in conjunction with major geologic events, it would be fun trying to see how much we could shift the planet. Like a bus load of idiot kids all rushing to one side of a bus during a turn, to see if we could flip it over. 😂😂😂

Everything is the same. Mobile phones, internet and the related things turned our life into a prison, so we feel like time goes faster.

What you’re referring to is actually a matter of frame of reference. When you’re five, one year equals 20% of your entire lifetime. When you’re fifty, one year equals 2% of your entire lifetime. This is why time seems to “fly” as we get older.
Some people can “lose time” with certain distractions, like binge watching an entire series in one weekend. However, prison tends to have the opposite effect. Whiling away the hours with little or nothing to do makes time seem to slow to a crawl.

The faster you go the slower time affects you. If the earth suddenly stopped you would age infinitely instantly.
