I luv’d my Slinky! I’m not sure if it was my absolute favorite, but it is high on the short list. I was fascinated by the physics of it before i even knew about physics. I remember accidentally bending it out of shape and steel Slinkies had been all but replaced by chintzy plastic versions. It took me years to find another proper steel Slinky. See, kids, back before the internet, finding uncommon things was difficult and time consuming. Count your blessings! Ell oh ell!
Maybe my favorite toy was my Evel Knievel gyroscopic stunt bike.

I spent hours building stunts for that thing! And i was always trying to figure out a way to crank the bike up to go faster, farther and fly higher off my ramps and obstacles.

One that stands out wasn't actually a toy. It was this little knife with a slightly curved blade that looked like a samurai sword but much smaller, like 6 or 7 inches with black handle included. My mom kept it put up but when I was going out to fight in the south Pacific against the Japanese she would get it out and wipe it clean for me. She would caution me about getting cut and off I'd go to save America. I never cut myself but I donknow whatever happened to it. I last remember using it at about 9 years old.
I wasn't into dolls as expected.
I preferred stuffed toys like Care Bears.
I loved my roller skates.
And, then, I transitioned to skateboards and bicycles.
Plus, I always took my Rubik's Cube around with me.
