Which franchise is better—GTA or Red Dead Redemption—and which standalone game wins?

[Kenkebuttery]

GTA or RDR.

And which has the better stand alone game?

GTA

RDR

[AI Opinion]

I’d say GTA is the stronger overall franchise: more cultural impact, iconic characters, insane freedom, and endlessly replayable chaos 🚗💥

But as a single, standalone game, Red Dead Redemption 2 edges out. Its storytelling, atmosphere, emotional depth, and visuals feel like a prestige film mixed with a painting come to life. GTA for pure fun, RDR2 for masterpiece vibes 🤠🎮

I don't like either game. encouraging people to hire prostitutes and flat out murder and rob people and even rape people should NOT be legal to sell in a video game.

It has become completely insane the amount of senseless violence in video games and movies in the past 20 to 30 years, and that's not counting western movies were always senseless violence even before that. Then you wonder why the real-world murder and rape rate are as high or higher than ever before. It's ridiculous.

"Garbage in is Garbage out."

Why can't more games be like Tetris where you solve a geometry puzzle without pretending to murder and rape people?

RDR, especially RDR2. It's the best game ever made, in my opinion.

The atmosphere in RDR2 is... unreal. You play and you forget it's a game, you think you're in the old west.

I don't like GTA, but everyone has their preference.

[Kenkebuttery]

Agree. I think gta got longevity on its side but rdr keeps going its gonna be the best rockstar ever did

RDR2 is a beautiful cinematic experience. GTAV felt like running a paper rout.

[MrChinaski]

I preferred MGSV to either, tbh.

[Kenkebuttery]

I never played metal gear. I'll have to try it. Especially if you sayin its better

[Paige2006]

I don't know anything about either one

[MrChinaski]

They involve shooting.

[Bklynbadboy12]

Gta is the ish

[Kenkebuttery]

It is good. Eventhough i think rdr 2 is best solo game. Gta takes overall series for now

[Bklynbadboy12]

I still play Gta to this very day lol

GTA.

[Kenkebuttery]

I think terms of longevity definitely. But i think after rdr2 the potential is there to surpass it. That's just my opinion
