Saints row vs Grand Theft auto, which video game series is better?

[ADFSDF1996]

I personally prefer Saints row because it allows players to create their own character, it is comical and has sci fi elements.

Saints Row is one of my favorite video game series of all time. Although the story and graphics for Saints Row the Third is complete ASS. The gameplay and customization are the ONLY redeeming things about the third game, which became known as "that game with the purple dildo bat" where you could act like a retard and make The Hulk with a zombie voice. The story, the half-assed missions, the crappy activities... I still play SRtT to this day on PC (not the Remasted version, it's Ugly AF), but they really ruined the franchise after reaching their peak with Saints Row 2, which besides having a short campaign and gameplay that isn't as good as SRtT, was otherwise perfect. And Stilwater is so much better of a city to play in.

And Saints Row IV was just a glorified DLC; literally. It started out as "Enter The Dominatrix." Saints Row Part Four Prime would've been a much better game, had THQ not gone out of business and rushed out the SR4 we really got.

I like GTA as well, but GTA IV SUCKED in my opinion and was one of the most overhyped games of the 21st century. I still remember people calling it "Game of the Century" back in 2008 when you couldn't even drive well. GTA San Andreas is still my favorite of that franchise, and GTZ V is alright too, but I honestly hate Los Santos.

Everyone overlooks SR2, it is a hell of a grind to get a lot of the weapons and vehicles, but it makes you dive deeper into the game, heh, and the missions are more realistic, be the dirty cop, bust up the scabs for a union, assassinate for a politician. As you said, not mind numbing gameplay, it really is a story of building from a fugitive to a powerhouse in politics and power. I wish I had played it before, and not after SRIII and IV

[razelove]

Saints Row, except Gat out of hell... that one was crap. Then they did that three player swap game with Gat in it with no follow-up, no SR V, just an awesome III, outstanding IV, shit follow-up with Gat out of hell and nothing in response to GTA V

[whatdoyouwantt]

I didn’t like that one either

Volition tried to move on from Saints Row with Agents of Mayhem, but the game was pure garbage, and they lost a ton of money after it bombed. But they're currently in development for two new Saints games; one a remaster (hopefully SR2 and not SR4), and one a new game; likely Saints Row V.

[razelove]

@MCheetah Nice, ok, agents of mayhem was the 3 player one I remember... really 2 though, get the lady with the bow, the yakuza guy, do their quests, game was far too easy with no plot. "We were bad, but now there's worse guys!" rushed production, and lack of ending with more bugs, glitches and exploits than Doom II. "Our boss recruiting terrorists, gangsters and narcissists is a bad guy? No way!"

I don't really care for saints or gta, but if I had to pick anything out of them, it would be saints gat out of hell and in second place saints 4, but then I hate realism in games, my fave far cry game is blood dragon (and the only other one i played was primal cuz the only realistic stuff I like is prehistoric themed).

[whatdoyouwantt]

I’m only excited about Saints Row V tbh lol

[whatdoyouwantt]

I love both games but they are different to one another. Gta V is a game where you have so much more to do besides doing missions, and it has much better graphics more content. While Saints Row has a great story too but there’s not much to do after you’ve completed missions. Some scene are really hilarious!!! 🤣

[kannettava]

I've only played a bit of both, but liked Saints Row better.

I play some games with violence, but how do you rationalize the prostitution in either of these game series? Not all killing is murder, but certainly all prostitution is fornication and adultery.

I understand people have different views, but we are to take on a biblical view. We can all take a look in our lives at things that are problematic. I have family members that play these games, so I understand the appeal, but somethings do lead to evil.

I mainly ask because I am curious if you thought about these things these games, and if so, how did you resolve.

[ADFSDF1996]

It’s just a video game, who cares about the sexual content present in these games.

[Gravit1]

Things practiced in Games are practiced in mind, we are accountable before God in our thought lives. Something I find personally convicting.

Romans 1:32
(32) Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

I have only played saints row III & IV, so I can't compare. Seems to be more humor and irony in saint row, so I probably end up liking them more. But without trying and see what I like about gta, who knows.

[The_Maphio]

Saints Row for the great overdoing of everything, GTA for the realistic open world and the extremely fun driving mechanics.

[TheSpaceGnome]

Not really interested in either because of the genre itself being boring to me, but Saints Row was miles better than gta because of the silliness. GTA has nothing fun about it tbh.

[Riebeck]

Tie. Saints is much more fun and carefree, but too carefree to the point of mind numbing. GTAV characters were trashbags and I didn't enjoy playing as any of them. Only Trevor eventually grew on me.

[BUNroaster]

Saints Row is way too arcade-like for me to take it as a legit world of experience. Its sattire of GTA really I think. But you do get cool powers and what not in Saints Row so.

[COMMODOREII]

True you can create your own character in both the story and online with saints row. But you can create your own character in gta for the online.

[scott04sa22]

GTA mother* yeah! 10 POINTS!!

[rapfan107]

I dont know about better but I've enjoyed playing saints row alo more

[Likescookies]

i dont really care about either of them, though I've tried getting in to them.

[BUNroaster]
