What do you think about a 7th grader and an 11th grader?

SO I know some kids who are going out and.. well the girl is in 7th grade and the guy is in 11th.. she's 13 and he's 17. They really love each other and don't have a sexual relationship.. These guys are my friends and I don't know what to do? Do you think this is gross or okay?

I think it's kinda weird. I mean a 13 year old is on a way different maturity level and life stage than a 17 year old. I also remember in high school how some of my dude friends went out with young girls and they openly admitted it was purely cause the girl was "hot". But okay those girls weren't 13, they were around 15 but even then I thought it was strange as they had zero in common. But if it makes him happy then well, I guess it's fine.

I don't see that problem with a 13 and 17 year old dating, but 13 is far too young to be having sex. Also some states have statutory rape laws against minors who are more than 2 years apart in age. Even if those laws don't apply... Give it a year and then it truly is statutory rape... He could be labeled for life as a child molester even if consent is given. He should really think about these things before continuing this relationship.

While it's only four years different, it's kind of weird. If they were 20 and 24 or 30 and 34 or anything pretty much past high school age, then I wouldn't bat an eye. They're gonna get some hate because of their ages, but I guess if they're emotionally compatible then there's nothing you can do. As long as both their parents are okay with it and they stay legal, there's not *really* an issue...

A guy in 11th grade needing to find a 7th grader for a relationship suggests he has big problems in his development, and this is really headed for problems, both emotionally and probably physically (for both of them). He needs to find out why he is not in a relationship with someone who is closer in age (and also in high school).

A 13 year old in love? When your 13 you have no idea what love is, and dating a 17 yrd old, ya that is weird and gross. There's nothing wrong with dating a younger chick, something like a 24 year old guy dating a 20 year old, your both mature, both adults, but 13 your still a child.

If it's all legally appropriate, in my opinion, I think it's okay. It's just iffy because the 13-year-old is just beginning life and could easily get fucked up by the 17-year-old, you know?

A 13 year old does not know love, to say that they love someone then is silly. A 4 year gap when your in your 20s + is understandable but when your still developing through your early and late teens its not a realistic age difference for a legitamate relationship

I personally think this is wrong due to the extreme gap in maturation, both physically and mentally. The two should not be, according to normal development, be able to relate in a real way.

Well it is only 4 years not a big difference but at that age there is a big difference between 13 and 17. I would think it is strange.
