What are womens thoughts on Car Audio systems?

If the title doesn't say enough, I am a bass head. I love techno, drum and base, house, electronica, and dubstep. I have a system in my car, its my first in this car. Pretty basic, 2 Polk Audio DB12's, 500 watt amp by alpine, and a Clarion CZ 500 CD player. It is great sounding and good bass. The cost for system and installation was 1000$. I am now upgrading my system, a carbon fiber/fiber glass custom box, 2 ARC audio black series 12's, an Arc Audio 1500 watt amp, and replacing all my door and panel speakers. This system will cost me 2800$. It will feel like a 500lbs hippo is dancing on your chest.

With that said, how do women feel about this? Do you enjoy the music? Do you enjoy the bass? Or do you find it annoying? Even if you don't like it, would you date a guy who was seriously into this stuff? Are there any fellow bass heads who are women? What do you have? Or would like to get?

Im not asking because I am trying to find a girl interested and date her, I know this is a predominately male thing, so I'm curious if there are any women who enjoy this as much as we do.

i'm neutral on this topic. I'm not going to like or dislike a guy more if he does/doesn't have a car audio system.

sometimes its cute how excited a guy can get over it haha. but its not attractive if he's obsessed with it.

i will have to admit that I like the bass feeling haha...but I'd hate it if every single time we were in the car he was blasting music with the bass turned up.

i distinctly remember this one night where one of my roommate's close high school friends (who was living in the same town we were attending college) picked us up from our dorm and we went back to his apartment to hang out, eat dinner, play COD, etc haha. and he had a system in his car that he was quite proud of. I was sitting in the backseat (and he didn't tell us about the system yet) and we were going down the highway in the speedy little car of his and he just started blasting the music. scared me half to death (I jumped & screamed) and I think my hair was vibrating haha. it was kinda fun & exciting though

To me I really like having a good radio in my car because I love to listen to it while I am driving, and I drive a lot.

I have no idea what any of that stuff you said means, it really means nothing to me as I have no clue what the components of a good sound system is. The only thing I care about is that it sounds good.

I don't want major bass though, that would be annoying. Just something reasonable. I want to be able to enjoy the music and not feel like I am going to have a heart attack because of the bass.

i understand what you mean, but when I say a "good system" I'm referring to one done right, where you can still hear every sound of the music, all the little dings, whistles, and lyrics, but at the same time have thunderous amounts of bass.

it depends on what car it's in, if you have a $1,000 system in a junker, then it's not very impressive, and I find it kinda obnoxious when I see a guy in a beater of an old Civic or Dodge Neon who's blasting music out of their car. the only way to justify a nice stereo is if you drive a nice car.

Lol well thankfully my car is not a junker, 2008 Mitsubishi eclipse, 50k miles, lookin nice and clean, but yea I feel the same way, spending more money on your system than your car? That to me is really dumb so I def agree with you on that

I'm all for havin a nice quality stereo and set of speakers. But when it starts getting into that "banging" territory when all you can hear is bass, I can't stand it!

Which is understandable, and trust me, I don't like it when it is ONLY bass. That's the difference between a high school kids system, and a good system. Cause the good systems have that incredible amount of bass, while still maintaining sound quality, so you can still hear the music. Thankyou for your comment :)

There are definitely girls that love bass! I have a pounding system in my mustang and it never gets old. Music is my life! I have 2 kenwood 12's and a kicker 4 channel 1400 watt amp. I've always had a system in my car. It's a much better way to start the day..

Yes def, I can see how that would get annoying. I'm usually respectful with it when I'm in housing area's with children I turn it down, as well when I am with a girl, I keep it really low, but when I'm with my friends, its turned up :)

When I asked the guy what kind of a performance increase will it be to go from my polk audio DB12's to the ARC audio black series 12's, he said it would be like going from a nice moped to driving a ferarri lol And I drive a hatchback, he said the level of bass is going to be insane lol I'm happy
